 Growing number of seniors applying for very basic needs (food assistance,
medical, etc.)

Our United Way Directors are not
only fund raising champions but
also help to direct and assign the
funding to the charitable
organizations in Tipp City that are
most in need of our help.

5. Education
From the time children are born through high school
graduation, the Tipp City Area United Way is there to make
sure the youth in our community succeed.
Initiatives include:
• We Care Arts: We Care Arts provides a comprehensive and
stimulating alternative to typical mental health programs.
• Imagination Library: Mails a free book each month to hundreds of
children from birth to 5 in Tipp City, Monroe and Bethel Townships.
• Dream Builders/The Clubhouse: Provides free teen-led afterschool
and summer tutoring and life skills in various locations for grades 2-
6 who have limited opportunities.
• Child Care Choices : Identifies child care providers for Miami County
families and provides child care information, training, and support
for families and child care providers.

We meet immediate needs through our Funded
Programs, which get children ready for school, help
improve their school performance and build character.

them become financially independent.

Initiatives include:
Tipp Monroe Community Relief: Administers summer
lunch program as well as utility bill, rent and emergency
prescription medication support.
New Path: Provides a food pantry and emergency
material needs assistance.
Needy Baskets: Food pantry for emergency food needs.
Ride to Work: Assists local residents and businesses in
getting their workforce to work every day.
Meals on Wheels: Ensures shut-ins and handicapped 65
yrs. and older do not go hungry.
Emergency Shelter & Homelessness: Assists homeless
victims with shelter and means to stabilize their lives.

We work to improve the overall health of our community.

Initiatives include:
Family Abuse Shelter: Assists and protects victims of
domestic violence.
Miami County Dental Clinic: Treats dental needs of all
ages. Traveling Smiles program treats school-age
children at school.
Well Child Clinic & Prenatal: Provides clinical services
for the most defenseless of our community.
New Creations Counseling: Psychiatric services for
those who cannot afford the care they need.
Recovery Council: Provides, prevention, treatment, and
control of substance abuse.
Hospice: Compassionate end of life care.
Rehabilitation Center: Works with severe neurological
injuries and other disorders.
YMCA: Financial assistance for those seeking to address
physical fitness needs.
Health Partners: Medical care for all ages who are
uninsured/uninsurable.

8. How You Can Get Involved
We are connected and interdependent. We are a community of loving and
responsible people. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families
are financially stable and when our neighbors are healthy.
But it takes our whole community working together to make this happen.
