- Export Co., Ltd also distributes water clock of Unik (Taiwan), Zenner - Coma (Germany),
Shinha (South Korea), Fuzhuo Fuda, Yuta ...With a dynamic and enthusiastic sales team,
the company are always ready to serve the customers with thoughtfulness and dedication,
always bringing a friendly feeling to the customers.

2. Internship Duties and Responsibilities
During 6 weeks interning in Minh Hoa Thanh Trading - Service - Import Export Co.,
Ltd (from 16th
July 2018 to 26th
August 2018), I had a chance to work as a sales person in

the company. This position required me to perform various duties and responsibilities,
including:
1. Read the company rules. Understand the roles and functions of each division in the
company, especially the sales department
2. Memorize all product names which are on sales.
3. Ensure all products are in right code, type, specifications...
4. Good grasp of product information: backgrounds, materials, colors, styles,
features, packaging, and customer service.
5. Assist purchasing team to count the number of products by code, mod in each
department and sums up the total number
6. Based on the inventory and consumption report of each item, I assisted the
company’s employees to place orders, and then transfer the order to the head shop.
7. Regularly present at the display area to help customers select the product. Track
the consumption rate of each item code and report the quantity of goods every 2 days.
8. Preserving all products of the company, keep product clean and sealed, guide
customers to see and check the product properly. Report immediately to the store manager
when discovered the phenomenon of loss, deliberately sabotage products.
9. Displaying products in right order and professional manner. Ensure that the
shelves are always neat and tidy (based on the display guide).
10. Cleaning products and displaying shelves daily.
11. Updating information on new products. Collect statistics of the number of bought
and sold products.
12. Assist the sales team to consult and sell products to customers, expecially to
foreign customers of the company.
13. Translate documents and contracts from Vietnamese to English and vise versa.
14. Perform other tasks if required: photococy, rearrange the documents, establish the
weekly working timetable, and prepare the meeting with customers…

3. Knowledge and Skills Applied during the Internship
Thanks to the internship, I had a chance to apply various knowledge and skills that I
had learned and been trained in 4 academic years in my university.
- Academic knowledge: The knowledge that I acquired in many subjects when being
a student in assisted me to do the task of a sales person more effectively. The knowledge of
microeconomics and macroeconomics helped me to perform the researching task of
business activities of the company. The understanding of statistical analysis facilitated me to
gather documents and records of products sales and revenue as well as many other records
about customers and market of the company. The knowledge of writing the report, the
knowledge and computer skill was apllied to calculate the data. The understanding in
Business English about benefit and cost, SWOT analysis and many others informations was
used to analyze and evaluate the performance of the company. Besides, Marketing subjects
in the university also helped me a lot to understanding about sales, markets, targeted
customers and also provided basis knowledge about customers’ demand and sales tactics to
better persuade the customers to buy the products.
- Computer skills: I nearly had no difficulty with the task required computer skills.
Knowledge from university’s lesson helps me to deal with paper work, including making
consumption reports, inventory report, updating new products’ information, etc. in
Microsoft word. I also can apply Excel skill to calculate total amount of daily product sales,
daily revenue and costs. Moreover, Powerpoint skill also helped me to assist my manager to
prepare monthly presentation about company’s revenue and sales report.
- Teamwork skill: As being trained in the university with many subjects and
assignment required teamwork, I took part in the roles in sales department easily. The
teamwork skill helped me to interact with the company’s staff when dividing the stasks,
cooperating in checking the amount of products, making reports, and many other functions.
- Communication skill: Communication skill that I acquired in many subjects such
as: facilitated me to quickly response in different situation with other colleagues in Minh

Hoa Thanh Trading - Service - Import Export Co., Ltd. Moreover, good communication
skills also helped me consult and sell products to customers.
- Language skill: Fluency in English made me confident in translating documents and
contracts from Vietnamese to English and vise versa, communicating with foreign
customers via phone or email.

4. Knowledge and Skills Learned from the Internship
Accumulating lessons after the internship will become valuable jewelry so that I can
stand firm when I leave university lecture to really come to the profession of my choice.
After finishing the internship in Minh Hoa Thanh Trading - Service - Import Export Co.,
Ltd, I have many valuable knowledge and skills which will facilitate me significantly in my
future career.
- Improving self-confidence and initiative: Being active and confident is the biggest
lesson that I gained during the internship. Being active to communicate and interact with
other staffs and customers will help me to integrate faster in the new environment.
- Acquiring knowledge about the company products: Ball valves, One-way valves,
float valves, copper flange, copper faucet, ding faucet, etc. are all brand-new products to
me. The internship time provided me with information about this product, which might be
usefull for me in the future in this industry or in some related area.
- Providing the knowledge relating to stocking, preserving and displaying the
products: In order to stocking the products better, they should be categorized basing on their
code, type, specifications so that sales person can fine the products easily. Besides, the
products and displaying area should be always kept clean to better demonstrate the products
and better preserve them as well. Even they are simple knowledge but are very usefull in the
future.
- Improving communication skill: Even though communication skill was what I was
trained carefully in the university, there were many practical situations during the intership
time that gave me more experience, such as dealing with complaints of demanding
customers, handling angry customers with default products…
- Improving translating skill: When performing translating tasks, I encountered many
many technical terms relating to valve products which were at first a big problem with me
but then gave me more knowledge to overcome translating difficulties.
5. Shortfalls in Knowledge and Skills

Even though many of my knowledge and skills are improved during the internship
time, there are still shortfalls that I need to change in the near future.
- Handling pressure and stress: When I was assigned multiple tasks at the same time
or when the tasks were too challenging, I often felt overloaded and stressful, which created
negative impacts on my daily life mentally and physically. Therefore, I need better handle
this situation in the future.
- Improving physical health: Performing various tasks continuously during 8 working
hours often made me tired and exhausted at the end of the day. As a result, improving
physical health to have better job performance is what I need to do immediately.
