The Fourth Year of our Degree in Photography and Camera aims to consolidate the acquired knowledge and to get introduced to the camera and cinematographic technique on Film and Digital Cinema. Students will use the acquired knowledge performing different roles in the shooting of two 35 mm short films, six Red One and two Red Epic Digital Cinema projects. We want the student to search for his style as a creator and technician, to acquire self-confidence working in a professional environment. The students will be coordinated and tutored as well as careful followed-up in their performance in the different film crews. At the end of the Third Year the students participate to the selection of the photography and camera teams for the final projects in Red Epic Digital Cinema which will be filmed by the students who have shown the best evolution in the exercises filmed during the Degree..

1. 1.- Cinematography II.
• Reviewing technical scripts, types of shots. Compositional and spatial work
in different levels of formats. Consistency in planning the project objectives set
by directors.
• Working on Set. Practical impact on the work of the Director of Photography
prior to the shooting. Tutoring works with the rest of the team.
• Camera-photographer-Gaffer work, self-management strategies and
integration into the labor market.
• Practicum of the Jobs of the cinematographer: Gaffer, Best Boy, Electric
(before and during the shooting).
2.- The Film Camera and Digital Cinema II.
• The HD Video Camera II. The Red EPIC and ALEXA cameras. Technology and
Digital Cinema specifications.
• Camera body: Power and configuration. Formats and recording media.
Menus and buttons: FPS, Shutter, EI, Color, WB, Recording menu, Project menu,
Framegrabs menu, User Setups menu, Monitoring menu, System menu... -
Personal Settings. Wiewfinder menu. The DIT. Warnings. Compatible acces-
sories. ALEXA workflow.
• Tutoring and practice of the jobs of the camera crew. Specifications Camera
Parts.
3.- Workshop: 3D Photography.
• Introduction to advanced Stereoscopy. The process of stereocopy and
monocular depth. Interocular separation. The concept of parallax in cameras
and flash. The interaxial distance or separation of the Chambers. Gigantism and
miniaturization. 3D Optical choice. Ratio and angular telephoto lenses with
depth perception. Differences between 2D perception and perception for
stereoscopic 3D. Software calculation.
• Projection and Display Systems. Projection systems of one or two projec-
tors.The concept of ghosting. Double or triple flash sistem. Anaglyphic systems.
Polarized, linear and circular systems. Active systems. Coding wavelength
systems. The display on television screens. Active systems. Passive systems. The
coding 3D. TV displays. Side by side, over -under, Interlaved... The 3D display
