An international rescue mission was started to rescue a cat named Colins that stowed away on a ship from New Zealand to South Korea. Colins had been living at the port in New Zealand for nine years after being adopted by a dockworker. The crew of the tanker did not realize Colins was on board until after the ship had already sailed. Plans were made for a ship-to-ship transfer to return Colins home without quarantine, but it was deemed too risky. Eventually, Colins' owner James MacPherson traveled to South Korea and was reunited with Colins at the port in Yeosu after the cat had traveled over 9,600 km on the tanker.
