2. âąThe word âassessâ comes from the Latin verb
âassidereâ meaning âto sit withâ.
âąIn assessment one is supposed to sit with the learner.
This implies it is something we do âwithâ and âforâ
students and not âtoâ students (Green, 1999).
âąAssessment in education is the process of
