Motor fitness is a term that describes an athlete’s
ability to perform effectively during sports or other
physical activity.
Motor fitness is defined as the ability of the
neuromuscular system to
perform specific tasks.

4. In 1943,Indiana Motor Fitness Test was developed by
Indiana University of America.
Karl.W.Bookwalter and Karolina.W.Bookwalter was the
first to introduce a field test to assess Motor fitness test
only for boys.
In 1944 physical fitness test was developed for high
school Boys and Girls.
In 1948 physical fitness test was developed for primary
school students.

For college men
• Pull ups
• Vertical jump
• Straddle chins
• Floor push ups
• Standing broad jump
For high school Boys and Girls
• Straddle chin
• Floor push-ups
• Vertical jump
• Squat thrusts in 20 sec.

Pupil should stand on a stable floor with a comfortable position. Start when whistle is
given and stop after the next whistle.
Scoring
Record the numbers of time done within 20 seconds.
11. SCORING
After measuring the performance in various test items, the following
indices are calculated for college men.
Index 1:- ( Straddle chins + Push up ) X vertical jump

Index 2:- ( Straddle chins + Push up ) X SBJ
