2. BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE(BI)
Business intelligence (BI) is a broad
category of applications and technologies
for gathering, storing, analyzing, and
providing access to data to help enterprise
users make better business decisions.
BI applications include the activities
of decision support systems, query and
reporting, online analytical processing
(OLAP), statistical analysis, forecasting
and data mining.
BUSINESS OBJECT(BO)
A business object is a representation of a thing active
in the business domain, including at least its business
name and definition, attributes, behavior, relationships
and constraints.
A business object may be a person, place or concept
The representation may be in a natural language, a
modeling language, or a programming language.
3. BI in SAP
Business intelligence, is an umbrella term that
refers to a variety of software applications used
to analyze an organization’s raw data.
BI as a discipline is made up of several related
activities, including data mining, online
analytical processing, querying and reporting.
ROLES
SAP delivers pre-configured role and task-based information models and
reporting scenarios for SAP BW that are based on consistent metadata.
SAP BI Business Content offers selected roles in a company the
information they need to carry out their tasks.
The information models delivered cover all business areas and integrate
content from almost all SAP and selected external applications.
4. BO in SAP
• Business object technology and business object programming are based on the concept of
"business objects".
• Real world objects, for example an employee or a sales order, are modeled as business
objects in business application systems, such as the R/3 System.
• We can visualize the SAP Business Objects as "black boxes" that encapsulate R/3 data and
business processes, thus hiding the details of the structure and implementation of the
underlying data.
STRUCTURE
To achieve this encapsulation, the SAP Business Objects are constructed as
entities with multiple layers:
Core layer:
Kernel
Second layer: Integrity layer
Third layer:
Interface layer
Fourth and outermost layer: Business Object is the access layer

7. SAP Business Objects Enterprise
(BOE) XI Architecture
Client tier
In client tier SAP BO is the only tier that
consist applications which interact with end
user for administration, publishing and viewing
of reports and other objects.
Application tier
It is the tier that hosts server side components to
handle user requests from Client tier and pass to
Intelligence tier of underlying system for processing.
Processing tier
It interacts directly with
database and generates
reports.
Data tier
It is made up of databases that feed
data used for reports.
Intelligence tier
It is heart of Business Objects Enterprise system.
It handles user requests, navigates them to
appropriate server, maintain security
information, audit information and stores report
instances.

16. CONCLUSION
SAP BIBO modules are more of related to technical sector and of course
functional sector also.
These BIBO modules are integrated with each other modules.
The scope for BIBO module is very good, but it need technical
skills, professional who has technical background exists in the industry.
According to PAYSCALE.com INDEED.com, LINKEDIN.com and
ITJOBSWATCH.com the opportunities are huge in technical sector like
software companies etc.
Of course there are opportunities in other companies like FMCGS, supply
