ICT role in 21st century education and its challenges
Wave Energy
1.
2. •Waves are made when wind
blows over the ocean
• There are a lot of energy in
waves around the world
• Wave power devices extract
the energy from the waves’
motion
• Currently doesn’t supply any
Australian power As the energy passes through the water, the
water moves in a circular motion.
3. The oscillating water column is a form of the terminator device.
1.Water enters through opening and into chamber with air trapped above.
2.The motion of the waves moves the water up and down in the chamber.
3.The trapped air is forced out through an opening, leading to a turbine.
4.The turbine is connected to a generator. The air spins the turbine and that spins
the generator.
4. • Renewable energy source
• No waste produced
• No fuel needed for it to run
• Not expensive to operate
and maintain
• No human or environmental
risks
• Unpredictable
• Needs to be built in a
suitable location
• Noisy, but so are
waves
• Must be built to
withstand rough
weather
• Might be considered
an eyesore
