1. The solidarity Cava of Miquel Pons will be
helping Nepalese children through NAMLO
The wine celler will co-operate with the NGO to help re-build a school.
La Granada, 28 May 2013. The celler Miquel Pons has signed an agreement with
the organization NAMLO Europa which consists of the donation of a portion of its
profits from cava production to solidarity projects. The agreement with NAMLO
includes fundraising through a special production of one of its cavas. Part of the price
of this cava will be given to the NAMLO Europa projects in Nepal. In this case the
money will be used to re-build a school for the children of Khamdenu, in the district of
Tanahu, about 35 kms from Pokhara.
Twenty thousand euros are needed for this project. Four classrooms will be built for
400 children up to 15 years old. The children spend many hours a day at school and
at the moment the building is in a dangerous state. With this action, Caves Miquel
Pons wants to show its solidarity and that of its clients with the children of this small
Nepalese village school to help them achieve a better future by giving them better
education.
Miquel Pons solidarity cava is a Brut Nature made specially from a mix of Macabeu,
Xarel·lo and Parellada with a minimum maturity of 18 months. It is sold in a pack of
three bottles with a black label and three distinctive plaques with an exclusive design
which includes images of the Khamdenu school project and the logo of Namlo Europa.
They can be purchased for 18 euros, 6 of which will go to the Namlo education project.
The Miquel Pons solidarity cava can be bought at the cellers, through Namlo Europa
and at points of sale throughout Catalonia which can be located on the web site and
the facebook of Miquel Pons and Namlo.

Namlo Europa is an NGO with headquarters in Barcelona and which works to combat poverty through the
education and development of projects and actions which help to improve the situation of poor
communities. Its aim is to promote self-sufficiency without dependence.
Its work is based in Nepal and Nicaragua. Until now it has been responsible for twinning projects between
Catalan and Nepalese schools and specific events such as solidarity dinners, conferences and exhibitions
to raise money.
