4. 1) INTRODUCTION
1.1) Introduction
Ashwamedh Foundation is a Non Profit Organization working in the field of Child
Education and development. Ashwamedh Foundation was founded on 1st August 2012 and got
registered subsequently on 29th January 2013. In the financial year 2013- 2014 Team
Ashwamedh carried out many activities and projects in Mumbai and suburban area. In the year
Ashwamedh Foundation developed its NGO HR and Financial Policies, got its By-laws and
MoA from Thane Charity Commissioner Office and also moved one step ahead as per the
Management of Ashwamedh Foundation is concerned.

To empower the underprivileged children and youth through quality education, healthcare and
livelihood programs.
1.2.2) Mission
1) To ensure that children from underprivileged background receive good quality education
2) To impart knowledge and values through well-designed curriculum & programs for
children.
3) To bridge the gap between children from different backgrounds through art & cultural
activities.

them to take actions as an individual or in group.

9. 2) ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS
2.1) Education
The core area of Social work of Ashwamedh Foundation is “Child-Education” and development,
This year Ashwamedh Foundation carried out many educational activities and projects, The year
started with training and development sessions for Team Ashwamedh Members.
2.1.1) Training and development:
Members of Ashwamedh Foundation learned basics of NGO like roles and rights of Trustees
and how to write Minutes, Agendas Activity Reports, Project Reports,etc. They also learned
basics of Financial accounting. Social Media marketing, lecture was delivered by online
marketing head of “GoZoop” Mr. Iyer Premkumar using Google hangout. Mr. Hemant Ghadge,
Project co-ordinator of S.H.E.D NGO delivered a guest lecture on NGO operations. Apart from
that Team Ashwamedh visited NGO’s like Gurukul Trust, Premdaan NGO to understand how
they function.

2.1.2) Career Guidance:
Ashwamedh Foundation carried out some career guidance related events and seminars in the
financial year 2013-14, we also ensured that one on one discussion should be carried out with the
students seeking career guidance.

11. 2.1.3) Certificate Courses:
Certificate Courses in various soft skills is an integral program of Ashwamedh Foundation in
2014 we carried out 9 sessions long Personality Development course for Std: 10th students of
Raje Sambhaji Vidyalay, Golibar Santacruz (E) in July to Sep months. We included some Guest
lecturers from Psychiatrist Dr.Kajal on brain mapping, emotional stability, meditation
techniques, goal setting and mind power. Apart from these special lectures the normal P.D
course content wise communication skills, body language, time management, stress management
and group discussion.. etc were also included in this course, we got really good response from
students and support from school management. The certificate distribution ceremony was
attended by Hon’ble Nagarsevika Smt. Puja Mahadeshwar.

2.1.4) Competitions:
Ashwamedh Foundation believes in healthy competitions to provide right platform for students
to provide them opportunities to prove their talents and gain confidence in this competitive world
. In the financial year 2013-14 we carried out Splash-2014: A drawing competition for kids on
Children’s Day. The competition was carried out in S.K.P Study center and Mr. Vijay Saliyan
was guest of honors who distributed prizes to the winners of the Splash-2014.
On International Women’s Day Ashwamedh Foundation carried out greeting card making
competition for girl children in Agripada Santacruz. On this occasion girls were introduced to the
Legendary women in the Indian History.

2.2) Health Care
After Education, Health care is second most important sector in which Ashwamedh Foundation
works. We carried out many health, checkup and awareness camp. Ms. Tanvi Ghadvale (MSc
Clinical Research) lead most of these medical camps. In September month 120 women in
Agripada area took benefit of our Osteoporosis camp. In October 90 women of Mahila VIkas
Kendra Agripada got benefited by our B.M.D and Diet related awareness camp in Santacruz.
Free medical checkup and consultancy on diet and lifestyle was carried out in month end of
September in Sion Gurudwara where 119 beneficiaries took benefit of this health camp
organized by Ashwamedh Foundation. On17th Nov medical awareness camp in Kolivada, Sion
was equally successful B.M.D camp was replicated in the first week of January also.

2.3) Environment
In environment sector Ashwamedh Foundation did some activities related to Plantation and
Preservation, Birds and Animal welfare, Cleanliness, Recycling and Pollution control
Every year we do Plantation activity on World Earth Day on 22nd
April and World Environment
Day on 6th
June. The plantation activity was carried out in Dawri Nagar, Santacruz (E) and
Tarang Vihar, Wadala (W) respectively. Team Ashwamedh Foundation created awareness about
E-Waste recycling by their activity of E-Waste collection in which they collected E-waste from
door to door and handed over it to E-Incarceration NGO in Grant Road for recycling.
Ashwamedh Foundation believes in conservation and preservation of our environment.

2.4) Other Social Causes
2.4.1) Joy of Giving Week Festival:
Daan ustav (Formerly known as Joy of Giving Week Festival) has become part of culture of
Ashwamedh Foundation from 2nd
Oct (Gandhi Jayanti) to 8th
Oct we collected clothes, toys, and
stationery items and books from donors and distributed them to needy people in different areas
on different occasions.
In Navratri Team Ashwamedh Foundation distributed brand new clothes in slum school run by
“Umang Foundation, Santacruz” we distributed clothes in Fatima Ashram, Sindhudurg to around
70 children in the month of January 2014.

21. 2.5) Festivals & Celebrations:
Well wishers and supporters of Ashwamedh Foundation celebrates their birthdays with slum kids
in association with Ashwamedh Foundation, we also celebrate festivals like Diwali with
volunteers and Christmas with children every year. Independence Day of India and Foundation
Day of Ashwamedh Foundation are also celebrated with some social activities.

23. 2.6) Tributes
Team Ashwamedh Foundation gave tribute to Anti-apartheid Hero Late Mr. Nelson Mandela
(Madiba) in the week he died.

24. 3) Future Steps
Ashwamedh Foundation completed its first Audit in May-2014. Audit is done for the period of Jan 2013
to Mar 2014. Our Audited Financials are available in this Annual Report. Team Ashwamedh has done
really good work as a Group so far and we are all set to work as an Organization.
Right now there are many difficulties in front of us and we all are ready to face them. Team building and
Manpower training will be our main area of focus. Money and Man Power are the major issues which
we have to tackle in recent future. But as they say, you must trust in society if you want to bring change
in it; we believe good people will support our good causes and we will continue to do our good work.
In the upcoming year 2014-2015 we will start our work with tie-up with some institutes, schools, NGOs
etc. so as to gain some experience of NGO sector properly. At this stage we have some ideas which we
have to convert into Programs and implement them on grass-root level in future.
3.1) PROGRAMS:
3.1.1) NGO Centers:
Ashwamedh Foundation is planning to start its NGO Centers in various slum areas of Mumbai and
Thane.These centers will mobilize local underprivileged children and will run some vocational courses
for them.
3.1.2) Certificate Courses:
Ashwamedh Foundation is planning to carry out different Cetificate courses for students from KG to PG
in various areas wiz. Personality Development, Basic of Computers, Skills Development etc.
3.1.3) Schools for Street Children
Apart from NGO centers for Slum children, Ashwamedh Foundation is planning to open some Schools
for Street Children and try to help them complete their need of basic Education.
These are the core area plan. Apart from these we will continue to work in health care and Environment
Sector very soon we will come up with good Flagship Program.
