THE DRONES
Should they be used in warfare?
Background
• Drones are UAVs(unmanned aerial vehicles)
• Flown remotely
• Highly trained men operated many in a control room
• Used to target highly dangerous enemies from afar
• Usually very precise
• Sometimes excessive casualties(civilian)
• Limits our military casualties
Why have drones been in the news so
      much in recent years?
• They came to their recent military
  prominence due to two factors:
  – Technological advances allowing unmanned flying
objects to be accurately guided over large
    distances.
  – Better intelligence gathering on the ground, which
makes it possible to pinpoint and strike high-value
military targets while keeping civilian casualties
and other collateral damage as low as possible.
For The Use Of Drones
• Extremely effective at disabling enemies
• Limits our military losses
• Gives us a reconnaissance of areas
• Used to patrol borders
• Piloted by some of the most capable soldiers in
our military.
Facts about Drone
The United States & Israel are the two
   most important manufacturers. Israel
was the first country which developed
         military drone technology.

It costs $4.5 million-$11 million per unit
or the larger and more advanced
Reaper cost $30 million per unit.

It can also stay in the air for more than
20 consecutive hours & can reach up to
              altitude of 12Kms.

• Can be used for Blowing up Terrorist training
  camps in Kashmir.
• Can be used for Coastal Surveillances.
• Can be used for investigating other countries
  military strategies.
Against the use of drones
• Immoral
• Desensitizes
• Civilian casualties
• Angers many people in foreign countries(infringe
upon sovereignty)
• Can be hacked or given viruses
