#MILLIONS
OFCHANGE
MAKERS
COMMITMENTS GUIDE
Overview #MillionsofChangemakers is
Ashoka U’s global call to action for
colleges, universities, and higher
education innovators to make
commitments to activate and
support changemakers of all kinds.
Millionsofchangemakers.org
More than anything else, the
#MillionsofChangemakers
campaign is a tool. Use it
like a spotlight that you can
shine on an idea, or initiative
that you want to draw more
attention to, bring more
partners to work on, or take
to the next level.
∙ Contributes to equipping or activating more changemakers.
∙ Is specific, measurable, and focuses on a new level of impact
(this includes integrating, expanding, or deepening an existing
initiative).
∙ Commitment leads take an intentional approach to minimizing
inadvertant harm caused by their commitment. Click here for
A Primer on Responsible Changemaker Education.
∙ Commitment leads work in, or have a strong connection to
higher education.
Ashoka U will review all commitments to
ensure they meet the following criteria:
To help you determine your
commitment we suggest you
(and your team) go through
the following steps outlined
in this guide:
Step #1: Read through our
list of 19 ideas to spark your
thinking.
Step #2: Discuss the
brainstorming questions to
help you narrow in on your
commitment.
Step #3: Write it down using
our commitment canvas as
a guide.
Step #4: Submit your
commitment for review.
We’ve also included a list of
additional resources and
initiatives that can help you
realize your commitment.
We’re looking forward to
working together to activate
#MillionsofChangemakers!

a Plan
What would be easy for you
to achieve? What would a
stretch goal look like?
Which goal are you most
excited to work on?
Of all the potential ideas
you’ve listed which would
benefit most from additional
visibility and connections
that you don’t yet have?
Who would be on
your dream team?
How could you
measure success?
How could Ashoka U’s
network help you achieve
that goal?
Step #2 Brainstorm
Step #3 Write it down
What barriers do you see
to activating or supporting
more changemakers on
your campus or in your
community?
Which of those challenges
are you best positioned to
work on?
How could you address
that challenge?
Discuss your answers to these
questions to help you choose
a commitment.
