The Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie is the world's first hospital dedicated solely to the care and preservation of koalas, and features a treatment room, intensive care units, and recovery yards. As many as 250 sick and injured koalas get treated at the hospital every year before being released back into the wild, relying on the support of hundreds of local and international volunteers. At the heart of the hospital’s fundraising efforts is the Adopt A Wild Koala Program.
