Key Takeaways
• Southern forests are sustainable
• The marketplace is experiencing a post-recession
inventory and residual supply correction
• Several factors (e.g. inventory and residual correction,
increased post-recession demand, pellets, weather)
have affected pulpwood removals and prices
• Price trends are similar in areas with and without pellets
• Pellets will have a relatively minor impact on overall
wood supply and prices but may have more significant
localized impacts

  • 16. Key Takeaways • Southern forests are sustainable • The marketplace is experiencing a post-recession inventory and residual supply correction • Several factors (e.g. inventory and residual correction, increased post-recession demand, pellets, weather) have affected pulpwood removals and prices • Price trends are similar in areas with and without pellets • Pellets will have a relatively minor impact on overall wood supply and prices but may have more significant localized impacts
