eTwinning Online Professional Development Workshop 16
Mis-information is when false information is shared, but no harm is
meant.
Dis-information is when false information is knowingly shared to
cause harm.
Mal-information is when genuine information is shared to cause harm,
often by moving information designed to stay private into the public sphere.
We can say we know things we know because we have evidence for them. And what we know, depends then on the evidence that we have for different factual assertions.
In practice, there are five key types of evidence that we tendto use on a regular basis to support the different factual assertions that we have.On occasion, we'll use proofs of the sort that we were talking about earlier. We also use claims, things we've heard from elsewhere.Experiences, things that we've been encountered or experienced. We'll used inferences, which are extensions that we make from other kinds of evidence. And we'll also use deductive testing, which is often talked about as the scientific method.
What's real? What's fake? It's getting harder to tell. Nowadays, anyone with access to a phone or computer can publish information online. As more people use social media and other online sources, it's even more important that all of us, especially kids, learn to decode what we read online.
But we can also find a relation with information on Goal 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong institutions, in target 10 that want to Ensure public access to information….
Last year Teh European Commission tweet That there has never ler.
