5. On behalf of the entire Archives International Auctions team, I would like to personally welcome
you to our 34th auction we have held over the last nine years. We are privileged to offer another
large and varied selection of U.S. & Worldwide Banknotes, Scripophily, Coins and Security
Printing Ephemera including hundreds of rare and exciting items that seldom if ever come up for
auction. There will be items of interest for every level of collector, specialist or dealer.
Included in the auction are over 1140 lots of U.S. & Worldwide Banknotes, Scripophily, coins,
autographs and Security Printing Ephemera that will be offered in 3 sessions.
The auction begins with 850 lots of U.S. and Worldwide banknotes, scripophily, autographs
and security printing ephemera.
We will also be offering a large coin collection from on old New York educational institution that
was donated to it and had been put together over the last 50 to 60 years. It consisits of
149 binders of coins with hundreds of coins in each binder. The collection was looked over briefly
and is being sold “As is”, unsearched for better varieties or rarities. All lots will have a low
opening price and we expect to have considerable interest in this fresh group of collector coins
never offered previously at auction.
We are ending the sale with the first section from the American Bank Note Commemoratives
Inventory that has been held in storage over the last 20 years. Included will be thousands of ABN
printed souvenir cards for numismatic and philatelic exhibitions and events as well as
special printed cards and Security Printed items previously offered by ABN Commemoratives in
their old price list. Some of these used to be extremely rare and now will offered to the collecting
community in varous quantities and give the beginning collector the opportunity to begin a
colorful and historic collection of our artistic security printer’s heritage dating back to the 1820’s.
We expect to hold at least 3 or 4 more auctions of material from this holding.
We are in the process of working on our September to December 2016 auctions of U.S. &
Worldwide Banknotes, Scripophily, Coins, Security Printing Ephemera and additional selections
from the Silicon Valley Collection of worldwide bnknotes. We will also be the auctioneer for the
Wall Street Coin, Currency & Scripophily Bourse held at the Museum of American Finance
in NYC in October.
We are still seeking consignments for our upcoming 2016-17 auctions including our April dates.
I would like to thank everyone who has participated in our previous auctions
and has helped make this auction series a resounding success.
WELCOME TO THE SALE
Best of luck,
Bob Schwartz
