REPRESENTATION RESEARCH
Definition of representation: RE-PRESENTATION: filtering images so 3,2
audiences take specific meanings
From google images, select two images of a star from your chosen genre 3,2
and analyse:
- Can you identify the chosen audience? Age, gender, lifestyle,
disposable income, pastimes...
- How is it made clear who the audience is? Comment on clothes,
posture, facial expression, location, colour, hair
- Do the audience aspire to be like the person in this image?
- Does the star act as a form of escapism for the audience?
- What cultural references are being portrayed? e.g. Florence Welch
uses Pre-Raphaelite art and Art Deco/ Nouveau references.

Use google images and annotations to identify defining features of artists 3
