The advantage for service providers in partnering with WORLDPIPE is that very little CAPEX is required for either service transition to IP or new service build-out. WORLDPIPE mitigates the risks, taking out the (R & D) engineering required in creating an all-IP based topology making a scalable, durable service, many times from existing service assets.
With the WORLDPIPE approach, First Mile transport has been reduced to a low fixed price per channel. CAPEX costs for Last Mile service leveraging a VPN can be much lower than traditional Last Mile deployments. If service providers choose to leverage WORLDPIPE’s VSTB product, CAPEX costs can be reduced to a monthly royalty charge that rivals STB rental fees.
Monthly OPEX costs are very controlled with a Last Mile VPN transport. Monthly bandwidth usage is calculated for optimal delivery based on the total number of subscribers. WORLDPIPE establishes thresholds, within the Last Mile VPN based on the service’s VQI (video quality index) reducing OPEX to a fixed monthly fee, if hosted on WORLDPIPE’s distributed cloud network.
