the largest and most important city park . Created on the banks of

football stadium that is home of the legendary city team AEL .

(9,573 ft). It is one of the highest peaks in Europe in terms of topographic
prominece .
Olympus was notable in Greek Mythology as the home of the Twelve
Olympians, on the Mytikas peak. Mount Olympus is also noted for its
very rich flora with several species. It has been the first National park of
Greece , since 1938, and a World’s Biosphere
Reserve
Every year thousands of people visit Olympus to admire its nature, to
tour its slopes, and reach its peaks. Organized mountain refuges and
various mountaineering and climbing routes are available to visitors,
who want to explore its nature. The usual starting point for it is the town
of Litochoro , on the eastern foothills of the mountain, 100 km from
Thessaloniki, where, in the beginning of every summer, the Olympus
Marathon terminates.

The stadium was developed in a
total of total of 144,000 square meters in
t the Mezourlo Hill, district of
Neapoli ,Larissa. Construction of
the stadium started in September 2009 and was
completed in November 2010. According to UEFA
stadiumcategories , AEL FC Arena, is rated as
category three of four, (renamed from elite) in
ascending ranking order.
The seating capacity is 16,118 all covered, with
the possibility to expand to 18,000. It also includes
38VIP boxes , for 12 spectators each. The stadium
complex, called Crimson Park, includes parking
lots for 1,104 vehicles, commercial spaces, a movie
theatre, and a 1,500-seat open-airtheatre, 12 tennis
courts and lies near the Neapolis IndoorHall .
The stadium was inaugurated on 23 November,
followed by a concert by Filip Pliatsikas (himself
an avid fan of the team) and Dionysis Tsaknis.
