9. Recommendation
From a usability perspective both video conferencing programs
offer a variety of benefits that are easy to operate and access.
Setting up an account does not take much and both options are
reliable and meet the needs for screen sharing, voice, video, and
messaging communications. From an instructional stand-point
Zoom provides a more secure, expansive, and accessible platform.
Security features that differ from Hangouts include privacy from
sharing personal phone numbers or emails. Additionally, more
users (85 more) can participate in a Zoom conference for the same
cost. When evaluating the accessibility, Zoom is adaptable to more
platforms and does not require a user to have a certain operating
system, cloud-based computing platform, or interactive device. For
personal use, I prefer to use Google Hangouts because I utilize the
G Suite for most, if not all, of my personal computing and
cloud-based services. As an educator for public education and my
involvement with business and higher-education administrators
Zoom would prove to be more beneficial because of the additional
features and compatibility for all users.
