Remember the Rule of Thirds(show image). Keep the horizon level and zoom in past any information that is not essential to the shot. It might be that you need to move around to get the best shot. Be creative: try shooting a subject from a variety of levels; if you are taking a picture of a youth, get down to their level. Try taking a shot from above or below to make the shot more interesting.
Every time you take a shot, step in closer for the next shot (show two shots to prove the point). When the image fills the fame, it helps the viewer understand and appreciate your photo.
Notice the light source and compose the picture to make best use of lighting. If shooting outside, it is best to have the sun behind the photographer, lighting up the subject. Sunlight can be harsh; cloudy days make for beautiful shots, as does end of day sunlight. Inside, move close to the light source or use your flash. Indirect light creates a soft glow, which is appealing to most viewers.
Focus on your SubjectIn today’s world, you can get a great shot with nearly any camera. Still, it is nice to play around with your camera’s depth-of-field (f-stop) and shutter speed. Smaller f-stops =blurry back ground and focused image while bigger f-stop =makes everything in focus. The slower shutter speeds are great for still life images or scenery while faster shutter (above 1/500) speeds are great for motion
