Questionnaire  Results/Analysis! We created a questionnaire using survey monkey, which we then asked members of our target audience (both males and females aged 16-24) to complete for our analysis. In this PowerPoint we have analysed the results and commented on how they relate to our future project.  Current Music Video Research/Analysis  Antonia Roberts + Jessica Sutherland
We have to take into consideration when looking at the following results that there were more males who answered the questionnaire which may cause the results to be bias to masculine preferences. It’s great to get the views of those in our target audience age range, and especially from the 16-18 age range, which is where we would fall into. We are going to work with the indie/alternative music genre and so it’s really important for us to gain people’s perspectives who are interested with this music, but those opinions from those who said they are interested in rock and pop are also valid, because these genre’s often overlap into the indie/alternative genre. Although this isn’t the response we would have wanted from our audience, we realised this gave us an advantage to create something a a lot of people who’s opinions we value have never seen before. We are pleased with the high result of ‘A story line involving the artist’ from this question because it was the more favourable choice in our group. Although we will not be able to have the actual artist in our video, we will be conveying this idea using actors to represent the artist: i.e. using miming and styling. Creativity was a key element from the start of our brainstorming for an indie/alternative genre music video. So it was encouraging to know that this is what was expected from our target audience.  Current Music Video Research/Analysis  Antonia Roberts + Jessica Sutherland
This question produced quite a balanced response, we feel we could incorporate various parts of different colour schemes; we personally thought multicoloured was more of an indie preference, or perhaps black and white.  Current Music Video Research/Analysis  Antonia Roberts + Jessica Sutherland
Love and Social Realism were the two themes we expected to have to work with in our music video. Therefore, we feel our song choice should also match this, and hopefully attract our target audience. Current Music Video Research/Analysis  Antonia Roberts + Jessica Sutherland
Despite the higher response for ‘a normal length with intro before the music’ we felt that due to our time and budget restrictions we wouldn’t be able to create this professionally, and we feel we would be more successful if we just created a ‘normal length without interruptions to the music’ in our video. These are just some of the various responses we received for a description of a favourite music video. We especially liked the response which talks about the importance of atmosphere, which compliments the song itself, as this is something we’d like to include within our own project.
