3. TYPES OF CURRICULUM
• EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMME (Holistic approach including pre
academic,socio emotional, speech and communication and gross and fine
motor in mind with sensory needs based programme)A school readiness
programme.
• M/S adapted with lots of reinforcement, remediation and Accommodations
to prepare them for boards with exemptions.
• M/S functionally adapted with skill based curriculum
• Purely functionally adapted curriculum skills and functional literacy.
• Pre Vocational curriculum (start from 11-12yrs) with private NIOS (at 14yrs).
• NIOS at the age of 14yrs onwards.
• VOCATIONAL COURSES.
• Physical education, yoga and other co curricular activities will be planned in
integrated manner.

4. CONTENTS FOR EIS(AGE GROUP 0 TO 6YRS)
CURRICULUM
• Early intervention curriculum will be implemented with a holistic
approach.
It will include Work on:
• Socio-emotional skills
• Gross and fine motor skills
• Language and Communication skills
• Pre School readiness skills-Group work etc.
• Pre academic skills-Assessment and Evaluation based on the same
(Using various checklist like FAB OR FACP OR IICP)
• Speech therapy and Occupational therapy programme to work on
other needs.
• Self awareness and ADL development programme (to be
implemented at home)
• Home based empowering programme?
• Health check and sensitization programme for parents and peers?
5. CONTENTS AND SUBCONTENTS FOR THE AGE
GROUP(5-6yrs to 10yrs)
M/S Nursery…….TO ………Class 5 curriculum needs to be adapted
as per need……..(Refer to a presentation on adaptation and
accommodation) if the M/S curriculum needs to be implemented
with support from SEN and main stream teaching professionals(e.g.
for children with learning disability and physical handicap)
………….we can refer to GLAD device for assessment and making
goals to improve reading, comprehension and writing skills.
M/S adapted curriculum can be combined with life skills education
on Health, hygiene, self care and self awareness (CBSE Curriculum
can be adapted at various levels for preparing children for NIOS
AND PRE Vocational programme (refer to adapted curriculum for
science and Functional curriculum in Math).
In this way we can adapt curriculum for other subjects also.
Other than the subject teaching, work skills, counseling and
sensitization programme will be included at every stage.
6. Continuation……………..
• For children with moderate intellectual level (for whom pursuing the
M/S adapted curriculum is difficult)
• We can look at the functional curriculum of IICP,FACP AND BASIC
MR for their assessment, planning and evaluation.
• We can prepare them in functional academic skills (functional Math
and Functional literacy with other skills like Life skills, Self help skills
and community skiils, shopping skills and others.
• As a Next step these children can be referred to Pre Vocational at
11yrs to work on all life skills and work skills intensively along with
advance functional literacy and money transaction skills.
• Tailor made curriculum on process of growing up, HIV AIIDS and
drug abuse along with counseling and sensitization programme for
peers can be done (for the adolescent group).
8. TARGET GROUP:10YRS TO 14YRS
1. Children who can follow the main stream
curriculum with support from the SEN Dept.
(Can get exemptions from different subjects and
by applying compensatory strategies will be
appearing for the board) (specially for children
with dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyscalculia).
2.Children with adapted curriculum can be referred
for NIOS private or regular with or without
vocational course.
9. Prognosis of children with functional
curriculum
1.Children with functionally adapted
curriculum can be referred to Pre
Vocational as mentioned in previous slide
(refer to pre voc presentation)
2.Later on this group-4 can go ahead with
vocational curriculum( to prepare them to
work in sheltered or unsheltered places as
per their capabilities).
