This document summarizes and compares weddings from the grandparents' generation to the parents' generation. A wedding is a religious
or civil ceremony, by
means of which the
beginning of the
marriage is celebrated.
3. Our presentation exposes the great
thing that there have changed the
traditions and customs of the
weddings. Beginning for that of our
grandparents and ending for that of
our parents.
.PRESENTATION.
4. .GRANDPARENTS'S WEDDING.
My grandmother got married in 1969.They got
married on the 6 th of September in Tarragona, in
a church called Santísima Trinidad. It was a
changing decade were the changes started to be
noticed. As they were more modern times the
wedding wasn't as formal as it used to be. So for
instance, my grandmother could celebrate a
wedding not just with her family, also with her
friends.
5. .MY GRANDMOTHER.
She could design her
own dress. It was
white and simple, the
symbol of a pure
woman. She also
wanted a very simple
ring, however, there
were tradition that the
rings were present of
the family.
6. .FINAL DETAILS.
They prepared their wedding together.
Grandfather's friends gave to my
grandmother the bouquet that she had to
bring to the church.
It was a
bouquet of white flowers.
7. .THE BIG TIME.
The day of the wedding,
my grandmother got
ready very early
advance but even
though she arrived late.
A hairdresser came to her
house and brush her,
she put flowers on her
hair as well as her
dress.
8. .THE LUNCH.
After the ceremony, they
went for a banquet in a
very special place, where
they danced and they ate
the typical cake, which has
four floors.
10. .WEDDING OF MY PARENTS.
12th of September 1998 my
parents they married in a civil
ceremony, because they had
already married by the church.
The place where they married
was in Lluc, Escorca. They
chose this place because it was
there where they first met.
11. .SHE.
My mother wanted to
celebrate an a homely
ceremony.
Therefore chose a
comfortable and simple
clothing to Ibiza ,a white
style, but the another
reason it was she was
pregnant of me of 6
months.
In the hair tape-worm a
red flower and a very
natural makeup.
And my father also was
ME
12. .THE CELEBRATION.
The food was held later
to the ceremony in the
restaurant " Mirador de
ses Barques“. Based on
typical Majorcan food and
an delicious cake of four
floors. Later the follow-
ups were distributed and
drank with champagne
and details. I am not
absent of anything!This restaurant has
conference wonderful and
we could do very nice
photos to us.
13. .THE FAMILY.
This day went very importantly and because of it they
wanted to celebrate it with the most nearby family on
behalf of mother and father. My grandparents, my aunts
and my two brothers…
16. .DIFFERENCES.Before in the weddings the white garment was
meaning the purity of a woman, but now takes
the white garment for tradition not for his
meaning.
The friends of the boyfriend were buying and
bringing the bouquet of flowers to house of the
girlfriend one day before the marriage, now the
girlfriends buy it directly.
Now the guests throw the rice to the pair as a
symbol of happiness, thing that before wasn't
realized.
