- - The learning objectives for my presentation today are the following. Describe the recruiting process: The interview is a part of the recruiting process. I will give you an overview of what to expect. Apply techniques to conduct successful interviews from before, during, and after the interview. Understand how to handle different types of questions. Commit to at least one action step to get better in your interview skills. I will provide tips for you to practice your skills and we will provide an overview of Perfect Interview at the end of the presentation. I would ask that you jot down any questions and wait until the end of the presentation to ask questions. I will also have an exercise. In that way, I can make sure to get through the entire content.
- Application: Depending on the size of the organization, that would determine how you would apply for an opportunity within that organization. At a career fair, you may be asked to apply in either one of these three ways. Interview: Companies usually start with a phone interview but they may also start with an in-person interview. Either a Recruiter or a Hiring Manager would speak with you. You can meet with a number of people at the same time or one person at a time through a chain of interviews.
- Research the company: corporate profile (i.e. when founded, founded, private v. public, number of employees, locations), products and services, what is important to you (i.e. community relation efforts) Research the position: Responsibilities (tie in with your previous experience or how it is related to your career goals/path), Qualifications and how you qualify
