Self Assessment-Campbell Interest Inventory, Keirsey Temperament Sorter II personality and career interest inventories, help you to learn what makes you tick! Your Resume- Do you have a resume? Is it up to date? Scannable? Do you need someone to review it? Internet Job Search- Do you know where the jobs are listed? Can you upload your resume? Educational Information- Need information on how to study for your real estate, plumbing, CDL electricians, postal worker, cosmetology, nursing, state trooper, paramedic, ASVAB,etc… licenses? What about the GED, LSAT, PRAXIS, GRE or GMAT? Want to learn how to research schools and careers?

Greensboro Library Online Database Services- “Utilizing Key Resources” The Greensboro Public Library has many online resource tools that will assist you in your job search Career Library Offers a comprehensive information resource for career and college research. Five user-friendly components help users match their interests to occupations, education prospects, and more. Ferguson's Career Guidance CenterDetailed profiles of more than 2,900 jobs, articles on resume-building and job-seeking skills, plus information about colleges and scholarships. Learning Express LibraryPreparation tests for school, career and citizenship. Requires free, simple registration. Use your library card number as your user name to access this service from home. Resume Maker and Career Building CenterThis tool makes writing a better resume quick and easy. Simply fill in the blanks at each step with thousands of pre-written phrases and keywords recommended by experts for most careers.
5. “Utilizing Key Resources”- Career Library Career Library has five user-friendly components help users match their interests to occupations, education prospects, and more. Created for individual researchers and career/education technology professionals, Career Library is a valuable addition to libraries and career centers. Career Library Consists of Five Major Components: Exploration Center – This component lets users assess career interests and explore information pertaining to occupations and higher education. It contains interest and skills assessments, connecting results to career cluster and/or occupation list. It provides various search options and important information including: Occupation Search, College Search, Financial Aid Information, Apprenticeships, Military Occupations, College Majors, State-specific Data, Occupation Video Library (English and Spanish), and more. Planning Center – This component lets users obtain printable resources and gather information that will assist with planning to enter the higher education community or the workforce. It includes resources such as a resume builder, as well as college and career planning checklists. Resource Center – This segment lets users search for web resources related to colleges/universities, careers, curriculum, and much more. It provides information on items including: "Cool Jobs" (job profiles on up-and-coming or out-of-the-ordinary careers), Web Resources, Full Text Articles, Standards-aligned Curriculum, Occupation Video Library (English and Spanish), State-specific Data, and more. Help Center – A dedicated technical support section, this component provides items such as documents to hand out to student and parent users, Help files, FAQs and more. Activity Center – This component offers ways for users to test their knowledge on history, vocabulary, math, English, and occupations in an engaging environment. It includes items such as Interactive Quizzes on history and vocabulary, online polls, sample proficiency & standardized test questions, GED sample tests and more.
7. “Utilizing Key Resources”- Ferguson’s Center Ferguson's Career Guidance Center features exclusive, wide-ranging content that is accessible and intuitively organized. Known for its unprecedented depth of coverage and variety of user-friendly content formats, this comprehensive career research database is broken down into three main sections: Job and Industry Profiles, Job-Hunting and Workplace Skills, and Career and Industry Resources. The material is drawn from a range of authoritative sources and is extensively indexed: Job and Industry Profiles: nearly 3,400 jobs and 94 industries, broken down into 16 Career Clusters created by the Department of Education Job-Hunting and Workplace Skills: guidance on getting a job and keeping it—establishing a career path, honing interview skills and writing résumés. Career and Industry Resources: more than 55,000 searchable, browsable resource entries divided into convenient categories on fellowships, organizations, internships, scholarships, and awards School Search: a comprehensive, current database of more than 4,000 schools that offer two- and four-year degrees in the United States and Canada. 11. “Utilizing Key Resources”- ResumeMaker Create or Update your Resume With Resume Maker, there are two ways you can create a resume. Fill In the Blanks You can simply “fill in the blanks”, in a step-by-step process throughout the entire progression of creating your resume. You choose pre-written phrases, keywords and designs provided to you by Resume Maker. Use a Template Use one, or several of the many resumes in Resume Maker to help you create the design of your resume, as well as give you suggestions on the content (action words) of your resume. If you are using a GPL computer and don’t have a flash drive on which to save your resume, save your resume to the GPL hard-drive, then email your resume to yourself!
