- SAM classrooms are made from natural wood / bamboo and the school motto is Ramah untuk Semua (Kindness for All). The motto and guiding mission of the school advocates for kindness to be extended to all including people with and without special needs as well as the environment.
- The school has a student body of 60 students with 30 between the ages of 13 – 40 years, SAM employs 20 teaching staff and 5 administration staff. SAM conducts its classes from 08.30 am to 05.30 pm and allow a great deal of flexibility for students who want to leave by 1 pm. Some students have caregivers hired by their parents who accompany and assist them at school.

- In our communities the social problems could be described as below : 1.Lack of acceptance, education, empowerment and equipped workshop facilities for the training of special needs children / street children and housewife. 2.There is no awareness of the society to segregate / litter the waste into the waste bin of reuse / recycle products. Therefore the waste is overwhelming at the TPA (Tempat Pembuangan Akhir). 3. Poverty and unemployment of the communities due to lack of knowledge and skills. 4. Lack of Government support in small social business entreprise. 5. Improper management especially in quality control, marketing and distribution inside the country and abroad, source and use of funds , human resource capabilities and strategic management in projects execution. 6. Transparency and accountability of non advocacy and registered firm 7. Lack of knowledge of branding and patent of products / services. 8. Lack of networks in the regions. 9. Medan city rated minus 3 (three) for criminality caused by unemployment
- Every month, about 50 kilograms of waste is collected. The students are then taught how to turn the discarded material into things like pencil holders, ashtrays, wallets and baskets. We also encouraged students to do rubbish cleanups on roads, this also provides students opportunity to interact with locals as well as instilling environmental awareness. Their products are sold at SAM-held exhibitions and at Medan area schools. They are also available at certain bookshops and restaurants that support SAM
