asbestos fibers harmful?
More than 100 years ago, asbestos was seen as the ideal building
material. Asbestos was fireproof, cheap, and easy to use. During the last
century, it is estimated that more than 25 million tons of asbestos were
used to construct factories, offices, schools, shipyards, and homes. It was
used for fireproofing and insulation on industrial equipment and to insulate
millions of miles of piping. Even the most common household items
contained asbestos.
Shortly after the turn of the 20th century, the medical field began to
recognize that a large number of people were dying from pulmonary and
lung diseases in areas where asbestos mines and asbestos fabrication
plants were located. By 1940, studies were showing a suggested link
between asbestos exposure and cancer.
By 1955, scientists confirmed a distinctive correlation between ingestion
of asbestos fibers and Mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer. It has now
been well-documented that the asbestos industry was well aware of
these problems, and acted overtly to prevent the public, and victims, from
learning of the dangers of asbestos.

2. Asbestos workers have increased chances of getting two
principal types of cancer:
1. Cancer of the lung tissue
2. Mesothelioma, a cancer of the thin membrane that surrounds the lung
and other internal organs Asbestos-related diseases do not develop
immediately following exposure to asbestos, but appear only after a
number of years.
Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma lung cancer is the result of flagrant, ongoing, and
unregulated exposure to asbestos.
Mega million dollar corporations have known since the 1940s that
unregulated asbestos exposure was deadly. Did that influence their
decision to provide masks or protective gear for their workers? No. Their
bottom line was too important and protective gear costs money. Since
illness related to asbestos exposure lay dormant for decades, these greedy
corporations thought they could get away with murder – and that’s just
what happened to thousands of hard workers through the decades.
But now people just like you are fighting back. Modern medicine, scientific
research, savvy media reporters, better governmental protocol controls,
and dedicated lawyers are making it possible for people like you – victims
of asbestos exposure and their families – to fight back for what’s right.
Victims (mostly men) and their families are receiving compensation for
pain and suffering, vital and expensive medical costs, and viable financial
futures for their families. Don’t hesitate because every state has a statute
of limitations as to the window of opportunity to file. Find out if you’re
eligible for an asbestos lung cancer lawsuit. Anapol Schwartz law firm has
experience fighting and winning on behalf of asbestos victims.
Mesothelioma Symptoms
Mesothelioma is a dangerous form of cancer that is often not diagnosed
until the later stages of the disease making treatment more difficult
and survival less likely. Thus, it is important to recognize possible
mesothelioma symptoms and to promptly seek medical attention if you
think that you may be suffering from mesothelioma cancer.
Pleural Mesothelioma: Pleural Mesothelioma is a cancer of the cells that
make up the pleura or lining around the outside of the lungs and inside of
the ribs. Its only known cause in the United States is previous exposure to
asbestos fibers.

3. The early symptoms of Mesothelioma are generally non-specific and will
most likely lead to a delay in diagnosis. Resembling viral pneumonia,
pleural Mesothelioma patients have shortness of breath, chest pain, and/or
persistent cough. More astoundingly, some patients show no symptoms at
all.
Peritoneal Mesothelioma: Many of the organs in the abdomen are
enveloped by a thin membrane of mesothelial cells, known as the
peritoneum. Peritoneal Mesothelioma is a tumor of this membrane. The
only known cause in the United States is previous exposure to asbestos,
but it can be many years after exposure before the disease appears.
Symptoms of peritoneal Mesothelioma typically include abdominal pains,
weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite, nausea, and abdominal swelling.
Fluid often accumulates in the peritoneal space causing severe pain.
The growing tumor can exert increasing pressure on the organs in the
abdomen, leading to bowel obstruction and distention.
It is important to remember that mesothelioma can have a long latency
period. Your first symptoms might not appear for 10 – 45 years after your
first asbestos exposure. While it can be difficult to attribute symptoms such
as a fever, nausea, or back pain to asbestos exposure decades later, it is
important to keep the connection in mind. It is also important to contact
a doctor for a prompt diagnosis and to contact a mesothelioma lawyer
to discuss protecting yourself and your family if you are diagnosed with
mesothelioma.
Were you diagnosed with mesothelioma
(malignant lung cancer) from asbestos
exposure?
Mesothelioma cancer, a malignant lung cancer, is one of the
deadliest diseases known to mankind. The average life span of
person suffering from malignant lung cancer from the time of
diagnosis until death is less than six months.
It’s estimated that by 2030, asbestos exposure will have caused 60,000
instances of mesothelioma cancer and around 250,000 other cancers that
result in death.
People who are mostly at risk for mesothelioma cancer have worked with
asbestos over the past 30 to 50 years. Unscrupulous companies knowingly
exposed to asbestos their employees and day workers under the pretense
of all in a day’s work.

4. People who have an increased risk of developing mesothelioma
cancer are:
Shipyard workers
Asbestos mine and mill workers
Producers of asbestos products
Heating and construction industry workers
Trades people
Friends and family of the workers listed above
Asbestos exposure can be diagnosed through various tests of urine, feces,
mucus, and material rinsed out of the lungs. The most common early
symptoms of asbestos-exposure related diseases are fairly common but
not if you have been exposed to asbestos in any way. Consult a doctor
immediately then contact an expert mesothelioma lung cancer law firm to
determine if you can seek legal action and receive monetary compensation
for your malignant lung cancer.
Unfortunately mesothelioma cancer takes decades to develop fully and
manifest, which is just now coming under the microscope 30 to 50 years
