Sig: Take the tablets of prednisone once a day as directed PO for 15 days

Inj. Snake venom antiserum Or Antisnake venom (ASV)
(Available as freeze-dried powder form & supplied with 10 ml of sterile water)
Send 30 such vials
IV Normal saline (500 ml) & drip set
Add 10 vials of reconstituted ASV in 400 ml of NS & the resulting solution should be
infused over 30-60 minutes. Repeat second dose with 10 more vials, if no improvement is
seen within 1 hour
(ASV for vasculotoxic snakebite: 10 vials of Polyvalent ASV for Russel or 6 vials for
Saw scaled viper as stat infusion over 30 minutes, followed by 2 vials every 6 hours as
infusion in 100 mL of NS till the clotting time normalizes or for 3 days
Inj.Atropine Sulfate 0.6 mg/ml)

Inj. Neostigmine 0.5 mg/ml

Sig: 1 ml Atropine & 3 ml of Neostigmine to be given IV stat & repeat the dose of

both the drugs if required

Sig: Add 3 vials into 70 mL of Normal saline, infuse at a rate of 10 mL/min with BP &
ECG monitoring

Send 2 vials of Propofol (Each vial = 10 mL, contains 100 mg of Propofol) Preferably in
Sig: The content of the vial will be infused over a period of 1hour ICU setting
Inj. Pentobarbital 300 mg

Sig: To be administered over a period of 1.5 hour
In refractory cases, general anesthesia for 24 hours is used

Salbutamol + Ipratropium bromide (Duolin) nebulization

Inj. Methylprednisolone (Solumedrol) IV

Sig: 1 mL of reconstituted solution is injected every 6th
hourly
Inj. Aminophylline IV (Strength 250 mg/10 mL)
20-40 mL loading dose is given over 1 hour, followed by infusion at the rate of 30 mg/hr
Inj. Magnesium sulfate 1 ampoule
1-2 mL IV to be given over 30 minutes

Sig: Give 6 U of Insulin subcutaneously twice daily, 15 minutes prior to meals
Self-monitoring of blood glucose is done to adjust the dose of Insulin
