In this piece of work I will be writing about the film 'Forrest Gump'. In this essay I will be writing
about Forrest's life journey as a child to an adult and how his life can be compared to a box of
chocolates. Firstly, the film " Forrest Gump" is a story about a man called Forrest Gump who has a
low IQ as well as suffers from weak legs as his spin has muscle problems. However even though

world to be too much, evidence can clearly state that he has a strong mother who has supported

I Love the Movie, Forrest Gump Essay
Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies. I have seen hundreds of movies, all of which seemed
alike and predictable. The writer of Forrest Gump did an awesome job creating a completely
unique main character and plot. There are so many things that make this movie as great as it. First,

Jenny is a sweet girl, there is no doubt about that, but her leaving Forrest time and time again tends
to make me angry with her. Although it doesn't seem fair that Jenny always leaves Forrest, his
character would have never had the success that he had if he and Jenny had always stayed in
Greenbow, Alabama. Not only is Forrest Gump a moral filled love story, but it is historical as
well. Forrest Gump takes viewers on a journey from the 1950s to the early 1980s. The main
character in the film somehow ends up connected to almost every important historic event in a 20
year span. Forrest Gump met three presidents, taught Elvis Presely how to dance, called the police
to the Watergate Hotel, and attended a Black Panther Meeting just to name a few of the historical
events covered in the movie. Allthough it is fictional that Forrest Gump actually did any of the
things depicted in the movie, portraying the events in a funny, lighthearted way makes younger
viewers interested to learn about them. In my opinion, Forrest Gump is bound to become a classic. I
learned about Watergate and the Black Panthers by watching Forrest Gump and I think that many

In the movie Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks plays the role of the protagonist. He is characterized as a
simple–minded man who speaks very slowly and gently and often pauses while talking. He is
mostly unaware of what is exactly happening around him but his good heart and positive
intentions lead him to success. He spent early days of his life in Alabama and as a child he

Gump. The movie is more of a meditation on our times, as seen through the eyes of a man who
lacks cynicism and takes things for exactly what they are. Watch him carefully and you will
understand why some people are criticized for being "too clever by half." Forrest is clever by just
exactly enough. Tom Hanks may be the only actor who could have played the role. I can't think of
anyone else as Gump, after seeing how Hanks makes him into a person so dignified, So
straight–ahead. The performance is a breathtaking balancing act between comedy and sadness, in a
story rich in big laughs and quiet truths. Forrest is born to an Alabama boardinghouse Owner
(Sally Field) who tries to correct his posture by making him wear braces, but who never criticizes

Forrest Gump is a complex and interesting lead character and provides a unique contrast to typical
early adulthood behavior. In the film, from the time he attends college, towards the end of the film
where he begins his role as a father, Forrest goes through normal events that occur in the lives of
many young adults. His reaction and development is different from most however, and he goes
through interesting events and experiences. This contrast between typical life events and a slower
than normal development shows that some expectations about cognitive abilities may not be as

It is also a way to comfort the loss of Jenny, and even the loss of the other important people in his
life, now that he has someone to share his life with and care for. He still has to deal with the fact
that he's considered slow, but it's helpful that now he can prove in yet another way that he's
capable. Common disadvantages of parenthood include financial and marital strain, too much
responsibility and uncertainty about parental abilities. While Forrest doesn't experience all of
these, he does wonder whether he will be able to care for his son properly and whether his son
will be negatively affected by the fact that his father is slow. However, he overcomes this and is

remains the same, but it does appear that he is somehow more mature and responsible now that
he's a parent. Often times parents will refrain from as much irresponsible activities, like partying
hard and staying out late. Since Forrest never really participated in these activities, no change is
required. Another major issue for young adults is that early adulthood is a time of decisions. During
this time they must choose a career and possibly a college. They also must choose a mate and start
to worry about their future. For many, they take this time to think about many possibilities and make
