Bath in Fashion responds to budget with recessionista fashion tips
1. BATH IN FASHION RESPONDS TO BUDGET WITH RECESSIONISTA
FASHION TIPS
Bath in Fashion starts today with a series of catwalk shows, talks and
demonstrations across the city. The festival is also geared towards
recessionista dressing which involves recycling fashion and creating new
looks from the back of your wardrobe.
City Centre Manager and organiser of Bath in Fashion, Andrew Cooper says,
“Bath is a great place to shop and caters to all pockets. Bath offers a unique
shopping opportunity with everything from top high street brands to designer
names in independent boutiques.” He continued, “Bath in Fashion goes back
to the city’s fashionable roots and celebrates its fashion heritage, and today is
a fabulous place to live, work and play.”
“Bath’s Big Swish” on Friday 25th March at The Octagon, Milsom Place in
Bath city centre is in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support, and will give people
the opportunity to trade in their less loved items for a whole new look. If you
haven’t heard of swishing before, it’s a new concept aimed at fashion savvy
women, where you swap, not shop! Swishing enables you to exchange the
items you no longer want by helping others and expanding your wardrobe at
the same time, without spending too much money. This new way to shop is
more fun, better for the environment and it raises funds for an excellent
charity.

paraded on the catwalks in an Urban Fashion show at SouthGate, Bath on
Friday at 4.00pm & 7.30pm.

Milsom Place with shows at 2.00pm and 7.30pm under the direction of
London Fashion Week producer John Walford, and Thursday night sees an
unusual mix of SS11 fashions paraded on 2000 year old pavements at the
Roman Baths.

conversation with manager of the Fashion Museum Rosemary Harden, a talk
by textile supremo Karen Nicol, and a subtraction cutting workshop by fashion
