2. After Mahindra’s $10 mn, Tata donates $50 mn to Havard This is the largest gift the school has received from an international donor in its 102 year history. The funds will be used to build a new academic and residential building on the school’s campus in Boston Ratan Tata, chairman of Tata Sons Ltd since 1991, attended the school’s advanced management programme one of three leadership programmes offered by the school’s executive education programme.

3. Infosys Q2 net rises 16.7% to Rs 1,737 crore Its net profit for the second quarter rose to Rs 1,737 crore, up 16.7% compared to the preceding June period. Revenues during the quarter to September were Rs 6,947 crore, reporting an annual growth of 24.4%. For investors waiting to hear more positive commentary from Infosys, even 200% special dividend commemorating the company’s thirtieth year, failed to bring any cheer.

4. Food Infaltion up at 16.37% vs 16.24% India’s food price index rose 16.37% while the fuel price climbed 11.14% in the year to October 2. In the prior week, annual food and fuel inflation stood at 16.24% and 10.73%, respectively.

Surrender of Indian Passport for PIOs made mandatory Persons of Indian origin will now have to formally renounce their citizenship and surrender their Indian Passport after acquiring foreign citizenship.
