tunnel

site
takes
advantage

city
aims

a
development
which
should
be

architectural

“landmark“,
including
a
bandwidth
of
social
services,
small
scaled
commercial
uses,
intermodal
faciliGes
(bike
sharing)
and
high
quality
of
public

green
spaces.

has
to
be
explored
if
housing
is
possible
under
the
circumstances
of
enhanced
noise

vibra=ons.

site
can

architects

urban
planners

imagine
an
exemplary
"Grand
Paris"

sustainable

boldly
designed
capital.
The
project
was
hailed
being
the
most
ambiGous
since
Haussmann
changed
Paris
in
the
19th
century.
The
challenge
for
the
10
teams
was
envisioning
the
European
metropolis
in
2030
being
a
"post-‐Kyoto"
green
urban
centre
which
allows
for
growth
beyond
the
current
two
million
Parisians
and
provides
them
with
anracGve
urban
environments.
