Terror…<br />I `ve seen the covert vicious faces of death<br />And spouting fountains of innocent blood,<br />Blackened mutilated corpses lying in pieces,<br />And the Spirits of Darkness dancing around<br />I `ve seen liberty strangled; bound in chains<br />Those heavy boots pressed close to her chin<br />The protruding eyes; those imploring looks,<br />Still keep me troubled in waking and dreams.<br />I `ve seen Care kissing Young Beauty`s face<br />That waning bloom, waiting for her lost love<br />Still hopeful, still pining away misery stricken<br />Her darkling dejection; looks young yet again.<br />I `ve seen night consuming: each Ray of Light<br />The Chilly Gusts of winter draining life within<br />Obstructing new growth only hastens decay<br />Oblivious snow that keeps signs of life away…<br />By Rozi Khan Lecturer in English<br />
