2. What does it mean to me?
Whilst growing up I was surrounded by different music tastes
– mainly rock and indie/alternative.
Music has always been a big deal to me and my family as it
usually takes us back to family event or memory.
My Dad loves The Beatles, David Bowie, The Who, Led
Zeppelin, pink Floyd (basically stereotypical Dad music)
My brother was also into indie bands, and my Mum loves
Fleetwood Mac.
All these artists and Genres defiantly touched on my life at
some point.
3. Childhood memories
My first memory of enjoying music was in the car with my dad,
whether it be to school or on a long car journey. These are my
fondest memories of enjoying music.
I was taken to see Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck at the age of 12, and
from then on I was amazed by how incredible live music
sounded. I then tried to go to as many gigs as possible, but they
ended up being artists like All Time Low, You Me At Six both
multiple times so I guess you could say I was limited to decent
artists to see live…
I was also brought up listening to artists way before my time, so I
wasn’t really someone who was bothered about seeing
mainstream artists live or listening to their music.
My brother was also in a band, so I never missed a gig, weather it
4. The Beatles were almost always being playing in the house or
in my Dads car, so choosing my childhood song was easy:

Something – The Beatles (Abbey
Road)
Because I was quite young, I didn’t really pay much
attention to the lyrics, but I always remember my Dad
telling that Frank Sinatra said it was the most romantic
love song of all time.

old)

When I go on holiday with my family to Italy we usually hire a car out there so we can
travel more. Its become a tradition that we always have the Amy Winehouse Back to Black
Album along with the Arctic Monkeys Favourite Worst Nightmare album as the first time
we went these albums had just came out. Although we were only meant to choose 3 songs,
I had to include both of these songs as they both make me think of summer and growing
up (not lyrically though).

6. Current Music Taste
Anyone that knows me, knows that I love Lana Del Rey. So I would say my current favourite song
and video is West Coast, the first single off her new album. I also love Brooklyn Baby and Florida
Kilos, but neither of them have music videos. I think that this song is really different to her
previous tracks off the born to die album, and this shows her evolving in her music carrier. Lana
Often targets dark subjects in her music lyrically, and then reflects this in her music videos, but
often in a more visually appealing way.
