Referenced Test
(N R T)
* Norm Refrenced :
* Introduction :
* Norm referenced refers to standardize test are
designed to compare in relation to one another.
* Norm referenced test is the type that candidate
performed good or worse which is determined by
comparing scores against the performance result .
* The term normative assessment refers to the
process of comparing one test candidate to his or her
peers .
* A norm referenced test NRT is a
type of test , assessment or
evaluation .
*Defination :
* NRT are usually based on national
standards not locally determined
standards or curricula .
*NRT scores are generally reported as a
percentage or percentile ranking.
* Morning process is the process of
calculating norm referenced score and
the morning is the process of
comparison of groups .
ADVANTAGES AND LIMITATION :
* Primary advantage is that they can
provide information how an individual
candidate performance on the test
compare to other candidate reference
group .
* NRT does not ensure that a test is valid .
* It measures the test taker current level by
comparing the test taker to the peers .
*Norm referenced test is that they cannot
measure the progress .
USES :
* Norm referenced test is useful have a
wide range of acceptable scores and the
goal is to find out who performs better .
* IQ test are norm referenced test because
their goal is to see which test taken
candidate is more intelligent than the
other test taken candidate .
* Audition like theater and job interview
are also norm referenced because their
goal is to identify the best candidate
compare to other candidate .
* Reform :
* Assessment being developed to
measure students achievement of
thecommon core state standards.
* NRT can help to differentiate
students and identify those who
may have specific evaluation needs .
* NRT promotes learning and
memorization in school cognitive
skills such as writing , critical
Reading, analytical thinking, problem
solving or creativity .
CRITERION
REFERENCED TEST
(CRT)
* INTRODUCTION
* Criterion referenced test and assessment are designed to
measure student performance against a fixed set of
criteria or learning standards .
I. E in a written form that what student expected or able to
do at specific age of their education .
* criterion referenced test are used to know or evaluate
whether student have learned or acquired knowledge if
specific skill set .
* On criterion referenced test the every student is desired
to obtain the possible marks or score to pass the test . In
this text you have to achieve the expected standards .
* A criterion referenced test is a style of
test which uses test scores to generate a
statement about the behaviour expected
score from the person .
* Definition
* CRT may be a high stakes test .
* Criterion referenced test may include
multiple choice questions " open ended "
question .
* Usually student need to answer correctly
to pass the test on these test are typically
expressed as a percentage .
* Criterion referenced test scores are often
expressed as percentages and student
should occur minimum passing scores the
result may also be scored or reported in
alternative ways .
* The criterion referenced test score
identifies the relation ship to the subject t
matter .
* CRT also called standard based
assessment .
* USES :
* To measure progress towards the goals and
objectives .
* To determine whether student have learned
expected kniwmedege and skills .
* To determine student have learning gaps .
* To evaluate the effectiveness of a course
academic program or learning experience .
* To determine if a student or teacher is qualified to
receive a license or certificate .
* REFORM :
* The test are fairer to students they don't compare
the relative performance of students
* the test are only as accurate for fair as the learning
standard upon which they are based .
* EXAMPLES :
* driving test is the best example because
their goal is to see whether the test taker is
skilled than other test taker .
* Citizenship test are usually criterion
referenced test because their goal is
whether test taker is familiar to the new
country history and for not to see who is
knowledgeable than the other .
Thank you
