2. For this next preliminary task, I have to detail 3 options for the main image cover. Since I am
doing a sports magazine I have already captured several images from a football tournament
which happened at school.
This image captures the heat of the moment
from two perspectives. The perspective of a
football player tired, on break on the bench
and the audiences alongside him spectating
the match. I used a bounce flash effect off
the wall which gives the image a subtle light
touch. Additionally this can potentially be
the main image of my school magazine front
cover as it lets the viewer emphasise with
the spectators however keeps the actual
gameplay out in suspense, luring the viewer
in to look at the magazine.
3. This would be the second image I am considering
to use as the main front cover image. This is
different to the first in terms that it captures the
gameplay from high angle perspective like an
overview shot. Additionally it ensures most of the
players have their back to the camera thus adding
some suspense to guessing which person is which
player. The lighting of the sports hall helps
maintain some focus in the background providing
an effective overview shot. We can also see the
spectators on the left hand side indicating to the
viewer that this was an event worth watching.
4. This image captures the gameplay in action.
Taken without any blur, the shot captures a
player in motion about to take a penalty shot.
This image is useful in terms that it attracts
the viewer in great suspense as to whether
the shot missed or if he scored. It also
captures of POV angle of a footballer on the
court. We can use this front page cover
effectively as viewers tend to won over by
stunning shots which create suspense and tell
a story.
