Biblography “Fact Files: Homo egaster/erectus” Science & Nature : Prehistoric Life. BBC, Aug 2005. Anatomy They were a lot smaller than us, just about the same size as if a full sized Lab were to stand on two legs, it was useful for them to be shorter so then it would be harder for Predators to hunt them down, but also harder for them to see prey. They had larger teeth than us that were sticking out of their jaw, but not at all like a monkey’s jaw. They were used for a different diet than us humans. They have a darker skin color so if they were out in the sun it would be easier for them to be there. At that time and place the climate was very hot and in Africa it is even hotter there even in modern times.
Tools The tools that the Homo Erectus were mostly made of wood and stone flint. Then they became smarter and put a sharp stone at the end of a stick to make a spear, they found spears very useful to hunt animals that weren’t that close by. They would have to have a lot of practice with the spears before they could become very good at it. Then the other tool that they used is very simple, they used their hand and feet, that was also the first tools that they came across. They could also use their fist to punch an enemy if they are in a fight, or trying to catch or kill and animal.
