3. Facts about H. Erectus They had a brain 850 to 1000 cubic centimeters big. They were evolved in Africa from H. Habilis and moved to Asia about 1.3 billion years ago. The first Homo Erectus fossils were discovered in1891 by French anatomist Eugene Duboisin Java

5. Habitat and Selter What are the climates in Europe, Africa and Japan ? It depends Europe is mild Africa can be hot , mild and sometimes wet Asia can be cold , hot and wet as well Where did the Homo Erectus live? The Homo Erectus lived in Bamboo forests as shelter and has 74% of human brain.
6. Habitat and Shelter Homo Erectus started off in Africa and then moved to Europe. Most of the time they spent in East Asia. Archeologists found the skeletons in bamboo forest and grasslands. Homo Erectus lived for a long time because they were smart and were able to evolve. At the beginning they used the bamboo forest as their main shelter.
7. Homo Erectus lived in groups or tribes Habitat and Shelter Through time they started living in caves because they had invented something important. Fire! It kept them warm and they could cook the food.

9. Anatomy They were a lot smaller than us, just about the same size as if a full sized Lab were to stand on two legs, it was useful for them to be shorter so then it would be harder for Predators to hunt them down, but also harder for them to see prey. They had larger teeth than us that were sticking out of their jaw, but not at all like a monkey’s jaw. They were used for a different diet than us humans. They have a darker skin color so if they were out in the sun it would be easier for them to be there. At that time and place the climate was very hot and in Africa it is even hotter there even in modern times.
10. Tools The tools that the Homo Erectus were mostly made of wood and stone flint. Then they became smarter and put a sharp stone at the end of a stick to make a spear, they found spears very useful to hunt animals that weren’t that close by. They would have to have a lot of practice with the spears before they could become very good at it. Then the other tool that they used is very simple, they used their hand and feet, that was also the first tools that they came across. They could also use their fist to punch an enemy if they are in a fight, or trying to catch or kill and animal.
