2. What is the history of Stonehenge
Stonehenge is made up of two circles of very large
bluestone rectangular pieces. Sarsen and Welsh sandstone
are also used. Stonehenge is located in England, in the
county of Wiltshire. It is estimated that Stonehenge was
built in 3100 BC., however nobody knows for sure.
3. Who built Stonehenge?
No one really knows exactly who built
Stonehenge. Some people think aliens built it.
Others think ancient people built it. Scientists
think two different sets of people built it. The
first group is believed to be the people of the
late Neolithic period (around 3000 BC). The
second group was called Beaker Folk because
of their use of pottery drinking vessels (cups).
4. What was the purpose of
Stonehenge?
No one knows for sure what the purpose of
Stonehenge was. Some people think it was
built for religious reasons. Other people think
Stonehenge was made as a calendar or for
astronomy.
