The document describes Amara J. Lundy's design choices for a logo and poster. For the logo, purple and yellow were chosen because purple is her favorite color and yellow complements it. The squiggly shape was selected because Amara sees herself as a squiggle rather than a triangle. For the poster, the quote was chosen because it promotes respecting life and standing up for oneself. The picture of a gun relates directly to the quote, and the space-like background fits the source of the quote. The messy but legible font reminds Amara of how the character who said the quote might write. Consistency in font color was prioritized over contrast, so the font color matches the foreground.
3. Why the color(s)?
• Because purple is my favorite color, and I feel
it represents a big part of who I am, and
yellow is its compliment.
4. Why the shape(s)?
• Because I can be a “Triangle Personality”
sometimes, but I would much rather be a
squiggle. And jellyfish are recognizable
creatures everyone is familiar with.
6. Why the quote?
• Because I believe in respecting life, not taking
it, and in standing up for your self and fighting
back in the face of fear.
• Also it’s kind of funny, which makes it
memorable.
7. Why the picture?
• The gun directly pertains to the quote, and
the space-like background was kind of perfect,
considering that the quote’s source is a show
that takes place in space.
8. Why the font?
• Because it reminds me of how the character
who said the quote might actually write.
Legible, but a little messy, unique without
being overly flowery and fancy.
9. Why the font color?
• Because it matches the foreground. I
considered making it red, but decided against
it. I felt consistency was more important than
color contrast in this particular situation.
10. Why the font color?
• Because it matches the foreground. I
considered making it red, but decided against
it. I felt consistency was more important than
color contrast in this particular situation.
