Vijyant Thapar was a Lieutenant who wrote a letter to his parents before the Kargil War. In the letter, he expresses that rights are not taken but given, that there is slavery despite status, and pays respects to soldiers who live with death draped over them. The document then lists the names of several Indian soldiers who died in the Kargil War fighting for the country's honor and future.
