Q.4 How did you use media
technologies in the construction and
research, planning and evaluation
stages?
Blogger
This was efficient for us to access and record our progress. We
used Blogger to upload our audience & product research.
Blogger helped us keep up to date and on track as we uploaded
schedules so that everyone was up to date with what was
happening with the project. We also uploaded rough cuts.
Blogger was effective as we were able to go back and look at
our audience and product research to help us with our main
products.
YouTube
YouTube was used to search various trailers in order to complete
my product research within the genre of my product (dark
comedy). This enabled me to analyse conventions within the
genre, and see how it could help our media products. YouTube
was convenient in terms of uploading our rough cut and final
trailer.
Google
We used Google to research on posters and magazines
relevant to our own. This was helpful as we were able to
pick out conventions from a wide range of magazines and
posters.
Google was also used to help us search for trailers that was
within our genre (dark comedy).
Using Google was useful as it saved a lot of time.
IMDb
IMDb was used for my product research to research films
within our genre. I used this to find trailers and upload it to
blogger.
iMovie
iMovie is a non-linear programme
which allows you to edit videos
into sequence. We used this to
construct our trailer. Through
iMovie, we were able to edit our
footage and add music and the
voiceover. We experimented with
the order if our trailer. We were
also able to add blank slates in
between the clips.
Photoshop
After taking pictures, we used
Photoshop to create our poster
and magazine cover. We used a
wide range of tools in order to
create our film magazine and
poster. For example, we used a
black and white effect for one of
the poster designs.

  • 1. Q.4 How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
  • 2. Blogger This was efficient for us to access and record our progress. We used Blogger to upload our audience & product research. Blogger helped us keep up to date and on track as we uploaded schedules so that everyone was up to date with what was happening with the project. We also uploaded rough cuts. Blogger was effective as we were able to go back and look at our audience and product research to help us with our main products.
  • 3. YouTube YouTube was used to search various trailers in order to complete my product research within the genre of my product (dark comedy). This enabled me to analyse conventions within the genre, and see how it could help our media products. YouTube was convenient in terms of uploading our rough cut and final trailer.
  • 4. Google We used Google to research on posters and magazines relevant to our own. This was helpful as we were able to pick out conventions from a wide range of magazines and posters. Google was also used to help us search for trailers that was within our genre (dark comedy). Using Google was useful as it saved a lot of time.
  • 5. IMDb IMDb was used for my product research to research films within our genre. I used this to find trailers and upload it to blogger.
  • 6. iMovie iMovie is a non-linear programme which allows you to edit videos into sequence. We used this to construct our trailer. Through iMovie, we were able to edit our footage and add music and the voiceover. We experimented with the order if our trailer. We were also able to add blank slates in between the clips.
  • 7. Photoshop After taking pictures, we used Photoshop to create our poster and magazine cover. We used a wide range of tools in order to create our film magazine and poster. For example, we used a black and white effect for one of the poster designs.
