Thesis Statement On Standardized Testing
Thesis: The effects of standardized testing have negatively impacted students across the United
States. High Stakes testing has led to a decrease in student motivation, high retention rate, and a
notable change in early dropout rates.
I.History of Standardized Testing
A. Standardized testing shows where a student stands academically.
B. High stake testing determines if a student will move forward a grade or not.
C. The legislatives thought high stake testing would improve student academics.
II.Lack of Student Motivation
A. According to the article, "Student Motivation: An Overlooked Piece of School Reform,"
Motivation can affect a student's outcome in class.
B. An absence of understudy inspiration can assume an essential part in an understudy...show more

Although legislatives assumption was that high stakes testing would enhance understudy inspiration,
and raise understudy accomplishment, that supposition was completely incorrect. The effect of
standardized testing (high–stakes testing) has not been positive throughout the United States at all.
Due to the lack of motivation, the high retention rate, and notable change in dropout rate, it may be a
while until many states recover, especially for states like Louisiana. According to Nola, Louisiana is
tied with Florida for having one of the country's fifth lowest graduation rates, and one of the highest
dropout rates. Our society needs to come together and think of a plan that will help students, and
prevent the increasing number of kids who decide to give up on school. A system that will benefit
both students, and teachers should be created; making it better for both, students and teachers to
work together properly. With a new system student motivation may improve, the number of over
aged students sitting in the wrong grade will decrease, and the notable dropout rate will actually

Thesis Statement For Pride And Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice: Essay Outline Thesis statement, including map of development: In Jane
Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice," the author traces portrait of women's role during the Regency
period: they were expected to get married, to be accomplished and to self–scarify. Topic Sentence
#1: Marriage was crucial at the time, and women of the early Victorian age were expected to
marry and to get their daughters married. a.Argument: Marriage assured social security for both the
women and the family. b.Example: When Lady Catherine tells Elizabeth that Darcy was supposed
to marry her daughter: "The engagement between them is of a particular kind. From their infancy,
they have been intended for each other. It was the favorite wish of his mother, as well as of her's.
While I their cradles, we planned the union: and now, at the moment when the wishes of both sisters
would be accomplished, in their marriage, to be prevented by a young woman of inferior birth, of
no importance in the world, and wholly unallied to the family!" (Austen 335–336). c.Explanation:
Lady Catherine's reaction demonstrates the crucial importance of marriage in the society, but also
for women. Families needed their daughters to marry in the same social class or above to insure
social prestige. Demonstrates Lady Catherine's role to protect the high class and prestige of her
descendants through marriage. For Elizabeth and her family, this union with the higher class assures
them social security. a.Argument: Marriage was a market, women needed to marry to ensure
financial security. b.Example: When Mrs. Bennet learns that Mr. Bingley is coming to town: "A
single man of large fortune; four of five thousands a year. What a fine thing for our girls!" (Austen
6). c.Explanation: Marriage was the only way for the Bennet girls to ensure financial security. Girls
are too high class to get jobs but would not inherit. Financial security also ensured future economic
security for Mrs. Bennet after her husband's death. Topic Sentence #2: Women of the early 1800s
need to demonstrate accomplishments and education. a.Argument: Accomplishments demonstrated a
woman's value. b.Example: Lady Catherine to Elizabeth: " 'Do

Thesis Statement On Capitalism And Capitalism
Introduction
Socialism and capitalism are two concepts that are used by governments in respective countries
regarding how the economies operate. The two concepts are based on political, economic and social
systems. The United States of America is an example of a capitalist country while Sweden is a
socialist nation. Apart from the similarity in which the government plays a role in the effectiveness
of the two systems, there is no discrimination in both systems regarding race, color or other arbitrary
classification. There are notable differences between the two systems based on ownership structure,
equity, and employment.

II.Thesis statement: There are notable differences between the two systems based on ownership

III.Ownership Structure:
a.Ownership structure is similar because both systems rely on property, people, or goods for value
and the government plays a role.
b.In a capitalist economy, properties, land, capital, and businesses are owned and controlled by
individuals (Pigou, 2002).
c.In socialism, individuals should not have ownership of land, capital, or industry but rather the
whole community collectively owns and controls property, goods, and production (Cohen, 2008).
IV.Equity:
a.In capitalism and socialism, equity is important in both economic systems. Moreover, in both
systems, the owner or employee receive some form of equity.
b.Equity is not a concern under capitalism, and the argument is that inequality is the driving force
that encourages innovation.
c.In socialism, equality is a significant concern, and it is emphasized in which there is the
redistribution of wealth and resources from the rich to the

Argumentative Essay On Procrastination
Procrastination is ignoring your responsibilities and avoiding them for no good reason. Experiencing
procrastination can have a positive or negative reaction according to the amount of the behavior. The
person that is procrastinating must first realize that they have a problem in order to find ways to
overcome procrastination because they are putting their health, family and job at risk. Twenty
percent of people realize they are procrastinators which in the end becomes a lifestyle. There are
various reasons why people procrastinate.
People procrastinate because they are afraid to fail, they have poor time management, they avoid
things that seem difficult or they feel depressed or they feel guilty. Some people believe that other
procrastinate out of laziness or lack of discipline, but I know there are perfectionists that often
procrastinate as well. For example, a perfectionist may put off writing a paper until the night before
it is due and then they will have an excuse saying, "I restarted because I didn't like what I had
written.". Another example is that some philosophers and scientists, such that Aristotle questioned if
time even exists, and Einstein believed that time was a muddle in which the past, present and future
were only illusions.
First, a person must be honest with themselves and recognize that they are procrastinating. After
coming to the realization that one is a procrastinator, make a to do list with low priority tasks; work
out why you procrastinate, by

Argumentative Essay On Veganism
Running head: RESEARCH ESSAY
In today's society, there are many different diets that people can follow. One of those diets is
called veganism. People who follow this diet refuse to consume meat or other animal products,
including eggs and dairy. Veganism is becoming more and more popular for a number of reasons.
Some people go vegan because they do not want to be responsible for cruelty against animals. Others
choose the vegan diet for their health or to help protect the environment. No matter what the reason,
the truth is clear: the vegan diet is simply the best choice. It is better for animals, better for us, and
better for the Earth.
Farm animals' lives are degrading, painful, and they endure a lot of abuse. The majority of our meat

In addition to their clean consciences, vegans can boast of healthy bodies. A meat–heavy diet can be
disastrous for one's health. The World Health Organization, for instance, has linked red and
processed meats to colorectal cancer (O'Connor, October 2015). Plant–based diets, on the other hand,
benefit our bodies in many ways. The advantages of avoiding meat are summarized in a recent
article from The Duke Health Medicine
News: "Vegetarian dietary patterns are associated with lower body mass, lower prevalence and
incidence of diabetes mellitus, lower prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its components
(abdominal obesity, elevated blood pressure and fasting blood sugar, high triglycerides and low
HDL cholesterol levels), lower hypertension, lower all–cause mortality, and in some cases, lower risk
of cancer" ("Vegetarian Diets", 2015, p.
4). A vegan diet offers all of the above benefits, as well as several that aren't associated with
vegetarianism:
"Compared to lacto–ovo–vegetarian diets, vegan diets seem to provide some added protection
against obesity, hypertension, type–2 diabetes; and cardiovascular mortality" (Le & SabatГ©, 2014,
p. 2142). Despite these facts, many people remain skeptical. That vegans can obtain all the nutrients
their bodies need, such as protein. This skepticism is unfounded: legumes, tofu, and other staples of
the vegan diet provide plenty of protein. For example, according to the

The impacts of cyber bullying for the victims can be underestimated because they are
mainly psychological and not physical. Cyber bullying in its extremes has led to the death of
several teenagers. Cyber bullying leads to depression and lack of enthusiasm for life that drives
the victim to suicide in order to escape the torment. Actually, the first step of preventing and
stopping cyber bullying starts with the individual themselves. They should respect the others and
also themselves because everyone has their human rights and no one cannot destroy it. Simple
steps like using the internet appropriately and not provoking other users are very effective in
preventing cyber bullying. Using internet as the media social is fine but trying to harm people by
spreading gossip or starting rumors and stealing someone password or hacking are bad things.

Argumentative Essay On Memorials
Memorializing events in the history of the world for any purpose has it's positives as well as the
negatives. Ranging from a memorial of a popular United States president from a loved one of a
family, memorials have generally served as a purpose of remembrance from the past of said event.
The purpose of the memorial is usually associated with a positive, uplifting feeling towards the
deceased individual or past event. While this is more or less simply defining what memorials are
for, what is the meaning behind them? What purpose do they serve besides the simplicity that they
are? Important messages from a few varied sources will give a differing viewpoint on memorials

formula, striking looks of the monument is almost guaranteed to attract some form of attention.
According to Source G, the analogy of tainting the planet with specific memorials are ridiculous, "I

time would heal. The grass would grow back, but the initial cut would remain a pure flat surface in
the earth with a polished, mirrored surface, much like the surface on a geode when you cut it and

was no need to embellish the design further. The people and their names would allow everyone to

Thesis Statement: The success of any relationship relies on one's ability to communicate well.
Communication is important in relationships as it allows us to share our interest, concerns, support
each other; organize our lives and make decisions; and it allows us to work together. Effective
communication is based on the way we talk and listen, how we respond and our body language. We
can all learn how to improve the way we communicate. It takes more than words to create a safe,
exciting and secure relationship. Too often the signals we send are not those we intend to send.
When this happens, both connection and trust are lost in our relationships. When we communicate,
we can say a lot without speaking. Our body, our posture, tone of...show more content...
There is nothing that keeps a relationship strong and going healthy, better than understanding and
once established communication is created many become more familiar with communication and the
different ways we can communicate.. When communication involves talking to our family, friends,
people in general, people tend to turn to their others first (partner, spouse, friends etc) when things
are not running so smoothly in their relationship. They automatically start pointing the things that is
or isn't doing well. People always tend to turn to their partner first when things are not running so
smoothly in their relationship. Remember, it is very easy to see other people's mistakes, but not as
easy when taking a look at yourself, it is much harder to accept criticism, even from yourself–
because no one wants to be wrong. This is where we need to get real about things. Communication is
not about who is right or wrong, but instead about helping each other see things from each other's
perspective, so that you can be on the page and avoid any misunderstanding that will cause unneeded
arguments. Communication is not so complicated, once there is understanding in addition to
understanding what the right way communicating is and what methods of communication works for
you and your communication best. Effective communication cannot happen on its own or with the
efforts of only one person.

Argumentative Essay On Fasting
Accounts of fasting can be traced back thousands of years. The primary purpose of fasting in those
days was to flee from the distraction of eating, to give your full attention to something else, often
through the form of prayer. However, fasting is becoming increasingly popular in a different kind of
way. Today many scientists and doctors are studying fasting as a type of healing process, not just
mentally, but also physically. These beneficial effects have been seen in the treatment of weight loss,
mental health, cancer, skin disease, and a host of other ailments. While fasting may not be safe for a
select few, the possibility of life changing benefits warrants everyone's consideration.
Many people refer to the problem of overweight Americans as an epidemic, and rightfully so. "The
National Center for Health Statistics (2002) estimated that in 1999, 61% of U.S. adults were
overweight" (Dean 303). The main reason so many Americans are overweight is that food is
everywhere. We see advertisements for food constantly, such as commercials, billboards, food
trucks, restaurants, and grocery stores. With so much food around us, it can be hard not to want
to eat all the time. This reality of food everywhere is a very new concept. People have not had
access to food in the way they do today ever before in history. Fasting has been shown to quickly
and effectively get weight off.

the bills.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that being a young entrepreneur is good because it gives the
young entrepreneur the opportunity to build his own future, set an example in society, and help
his family since he is young, what is good because by doing so, the young person gains many
things, such as responsibility towards life, perseverance in his life, and of course humility to ask
God for His help at what he is doing in his life. It is definitely good to be a young entrepreneur

Thesis Statement For Argumentative Essay On Zoos

Since their very beginnings, zoo's around the world have been at the forefront of ethical debates.
Animal ethicists, animal liberationists and proponents of the land ethic raise considerable questions
about the nature of zoos in a moral and ethical context. Drawing on animal rights claims, the
questionable moral status of animals and the land ethic, this essay seeks to argue that zoo's; a place in
which wild animal's are held in captivity, are inherently unethical. Though animal liberationists tend
to include domesticated animals and agriculturally farmed animals, the scope of this essay will focus
solely on the ethics of zoo's and those animals within. Citing experts in the animal ethics...show more

Argument/ Premise 2: As a result of their rights and claim to a moral status, there is an ethical
standard in which humans must treat animals.
– Zoo's take on the duty to honor animal rights given that they have taken responsibility for the
animal. This means that zoo's must work to avoid pain and seek to bring the animals pleasure. An
"informed empathy" (having a reverence for all life) is the basis for our ethical standard in how
we treat animals. Going against this ethical basis in zoo's is only acceptable when there is a threat
to human life. Callicott will be brought in here yet again, to discuss how we have a duty of care for
animals and that zoo animals are our creations, so we must treat them ethically.

humans, given that they are part of the collective "land" and we owe it integrity. We must preserve
the integrity and stability of "the land" (animals included) and thus animals deserve to continue
living in their natural state. In this, I will discuss how zoo's involve humans as the "conqueror's" and
this is unethical– we must live in ethical holism. Zoo's directly violate this land

Argumentative Essay On Climate Change
Climate change can be traced down to since the mid–1800s, when the industrial revolution first
started taking place all around the world. Lives of human and animal species have been negatively
affected since then, with events such as natural disasters, the melting of ice in polar regions, and
change in weather and living conditions. Climate change in polar regions, in particular, has faced
the most damage compared to any other region because of its location in regard to the sun. Climate
change holds many different views and opinions about the effects, and even the existence itself, but
evidence is clear and unmistakable in global ramifications and local impact in polar regions.
"...Climate change [is] the 'greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people'", skeptics like
Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma like to say. Climate change is change in climate patterns due to an
increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases produced by certain human activity.
According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center, data taken by satellite has shown that the
Arctic cover has decreased by 30% over the past 30 years, and this change, which also include
change in sea ice and permafrost, in artic weather and climate is caused by humans. Although
numerous scientists have confirmed the legitimacy of climate change, there are different views on
whether climate change is real or not. Government officials like Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma or
Senator Marco Rubio of Florida have explicitly stated that they do not believe climate change is
neither real, nor caused by humans (Tom McCarthy, 2014). On the other hand, mainstream media
and other media outlets, such as The Independent and The Economist, have reported their findings
of climate change and its legitimacy. The Independent (Conner, S. 2011) reported that records of
these changes were taken by military submarines, land measurements, and satellite data to prove ice

Thesis Statement : Global Warming
Thesis Statement: Global warming is a growing concern of scientists and researchers who believe
that it is a serious problem for our planet. The concerns and research have also been questioned and
have even been called myths. Millions of people find themselves affected by these weather pattern
changes and are concerned for their futures. Activists on both sides of the argument are very
passionate and not afraid to attack each other in every way they can. There are many questions that
are still not answered, however, we continue to see drastic weather changes to Earth. We must go
beyond the arguments and learn as much as we can to stop what could possibly lead to the
destruction of our planet, our way of life and our future.
Global warming is concerned with an average increase in the temperature of the atmosphere and the
increase in the Earth 's surface temperature primarily due to the emission of greenhouse gases from
the burning of fossil fuels. As for the processes of global warming, they can occur from a variety of
causes. The causes include the things that are concerned with natural and human factors.
Some people believe that global warming is a myth or hoax. They believe that global warming is
being used to generate fear and panic and that those behind this movement are using it to control
people 's lives and for financial gain. "Within the community of scientists and others concerned about
anthropogenic climate change, those who are skeptics are more commonly termed

  • 1. Thesis Statement On Standardized Testing Thesis: The effects of standardized testing have negatively impacted students across the United States. High Stakes testing has led to a decrease in student motivation, high retention rate, and a notable change in early dropout rates. I.History of Standardized Testing A. Standardized testing shows where a student stands academically. B. High stake testing determines if a student will move forward a grade or not. C. The legislatives thought high stake testing would improve student academics. II.Lack of Student Motivation A. According to the article, "Student Motivation: An Overlooked Piece of School Reform," Motivation can affect a student's outcome in class. B. An absence of understudy inspiration can assume an essential part in an understudy...show more content... Although legislatives assumption was that high stakes testing would enhance understudy inspiration, and raise understudy accomplishment, that supposition was completely incorrect. The effect of standardized testing (high–stakes testing) has not been positive throughout the United States at all. Due to the lack of motivation, the high retention rate, and notable change in dropout rate, it may be a while until many states recover, especially for states like Louisiana. According to Nola, Louisiana is tied with Florida for having one of the country's fifth lowest graduation rates, and one of the highest dropout rates. Our society needs to come together and think of a plan that will help students, and prevent the increasing number of kids who decide to give up on school. A system that will benefit both students, and teachers should be created; making it better for both, students and teachers to work together properly. With a new system student motivation may improve, the number of over aged students sitting in the wrong grade will decrease, and the notable dropout rate will actually Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. Thesis Statement For Pride And Prejudice Pride and Prejudice: Essay Outline Thesis statement, including map of development: In Jane Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice," the author traces portrait of women's role during the Regency period: they were expected to get married, to be accomplished and to self–scarify. Topic Sentence #1: Marriage was crucial at the time, and women of the early Victorian age were expected to marry and to get their daughters married. a.Argument: Marriage assured social security for both the women and the family. b.Example: When Lady Catherine tells Elizabeth that Darcy was supposed to marry her daughter: "The engagement between them is of a particular kind. From their infancy, they have been intended for each other. It was the favorite wish of his mother, as well as of her's. While I their cradles, we planned the union: and now, at the moment when the wishes of both sisters would be accomplished, in their marriage, to be prevented by a young woman of inferior birth, of no importance in the world, and wholly unallied to the family!" (Austen 335–336). c.Explanation: Lady Catherine's reaction demonstrates the crucial importance of marriage in the society, but also for women. Families needed their daughters to marry in the same social class or above to insure social prestige. Demonstrates Lady Catherine's role to protect the high class and prestige of her descendants through marriage. For Elizabeth and her family, this union with the higher class assures them social security. a.Argument: Marriage was a market, women needed to marry to ensure financial security. b.Example: When Mrs. Bennet learns that Mr. Bingley is coming to town: "A single man of large fortune; four of five thousands a year. What a fine thing for our girls!" (Austen 6). c.Explanation: Marriage was the only way for the Bennet girls to ensure financial security. Girls are too high class to get jobs but would not inherit. Financial security also ensured future economic security for Mrs. Bennet after her husband's death. Topic Sentence #2: Women of the early 1800s need to demonstrate accomplishments and education. a.Argument: Accomplishments demonstrated a woman's value. b.Example: Lady Catherine to Elizabeth: " 'Do Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Experiencing procrastination can have a positive or negative reaction according to the amount of the behavior. The person that is procrastinating must first realize that they have a problem in order to find ways to overcome procrastination because they are putting their health, family and job at risk. Twenty percent of people realize they are procrastinators which in the end becomes a lifestyle. There are various reasons why people procrastinate. People procrastinate because they are afraid to fail, they have poor time management, they avoid things that seem difficult or they feel depressed or they feel guilty. Some people believe that other procrastinate out of laziness or lack of discipline, but I know there are perfectionists that often procrastinate as well. For example, a perfectionist may put off writing a paper until the night before it is due and then they will have an excuse saying, "I restarted because I didn't like what I had written.". Another example is that some philosophers and scientists, such that Aristotle questioned if time even exists, and Einstein believed that time was a muddle in which the past, present and future were only illusions. • 9. Argumentative Essay On Veganism Running head: RESEARCH ESSAY In today's society, there are many different diets that people can follow. One of those diets is called veganism. People who follow this diet refuse to consume meat or other animal products, including eggs and dairy. Veganism is becoming more and more popular for a number of reasons. Some people go vegan because they do not want to be responsible for cruelty against animals. Others choose the vegan diet for their health or to help protect the environment. No matter what the reason, the truth is clear: the vegan diet is simply the best choice. It is better for animals, better for us, and better for the Earth. Farm animals' lives are degrading, painful, and they endure a lot of abuse. The majority of our meat ...show more content... In addition to their clean consciences, vegans can boast of healthy bodies. A meat–heavy diet can be disastrous for one's health. The World Health Organization, for instance, has linked red and processed meats to colorectal cancer (O'Connor, October 2015). Plant–based diets, on the other hand, benefit our bodies in many ways. The advantages of avoiding meat are summarized in a recent article from The Duke Health Medicine News: "Vegetarian dietary patterns are associated with lower body mass, lower prevalence and incidence of diabetes mellitus, lower prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its components (abdominal obesity, elevated blood pressure and fasting blood sugar, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol levels), lower hypertension, lower all–cause mortality, and in some cases, lower risk of cancer" ("Vegetarian Diets", 2015, p. 4). A vegan diet offers all of the above benefits, as well as several that aren't associated with vegetarianism: "Compared to lacto–ovo–vegetarian diets, vegan diets seem to provide some added protection against obesity, hypertension, type–2 diabetes; and cardiovascular mortality" (Le & SabatГ©, 2014, p. 2142). Despite these facts, many people remain skeptical. That vegans can obtain all the nutrients their bodies need, such as protein. This skepticism is unfounded: legumes, tofu, and other staples of the vegan diet provide plenty of protein. For example, according to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Ranging from a memorial of a popular United States president from a loved one of a family, memorials have generally served as a purpose of remembrance from the past of said event. The purpose of the memorial is usually associated with a positive, uplifting feeling towards the deceased individual or past event. While this is more or less simply defining what memorials are for, what is the meaning behind them? What purpose do they serve besides the simplicity that they are? Memorials are meant to be striking in the sense that you will notice said memorial and donate some attention to it. The views of these see this attention capturing as exceedingly high for some purposes. Some memorials are outstanding in their craftsmanship and aesthetics. This makes people wonder what could be lurking inside the memorial, or what is near that memorial. What we've got here is a formula, striking looks of the monument is almost guaranteed to attract some form of attention. According to Source G, the analogy of tainting the planet with specific memorials are ridiculous, "I imagined taking a knife and cutting into the earth, opening it up, an initial violence and pain that in time would heal. The grass would grow back, but the initial cut would remain a pure flat surface in the earth with a polished, mirrored surface, much like the surface on a geode when you cut it and polish the edge. The need for the names to be on the memorial would become the memorial; there was no need to embellish the design further. The people and their names would allow everyone to respond and remember. The ideals of such nonsensical placements of the memorials are just irritable at the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Thesis Statement: The success of any relationship relies on one's ability to communicate well. Communication is important in relationships as it allows us to share our interest, concerns, support each other; organize our lives and make decisions; and it allows us to work together. Effective communication is based on the way we talk and listen, how we respond and our body language. We can all learn how to improve the way we communicate. It takes more than words to create a safe, exciting and secure relationship. Too often the signals we send are not those we intend to send. When this happens, both connection and trust are lost in our relationships. When we communicate, we can say a lot without speaking. Our body, our posture, tone of...show more content... There is nothing that keeps a relationship strong and going healthy, better than understanding and once established communication is created many become more familiar with communication and the different ways we can communicate.. When communication involves talking to our family, friends, people in general, people tend to turn to their others first (partner, spouse, friends etc) when things are not running so smoothly in their relationship. They automatically start pointing the things that is or isn't doing well. People always tend to turn to their partner first when things are not running so smoothly in their relationship. Remember, it is very easy to see other people's mistakes, but not as easy when taking a look at yourself, it is much harder to accept criticism, even from yourself– because no one wants to be wrong. This is where we need to get real about things. Communication is not about who is right or wrong, but instead about helping each other see things from each other's perspective, so that you can be on the page and avoid any misunderstanding that will cause unneeded arguments. Communication is not so complicated, once there is understanding in addition to understanding what the right way communicating is and what methods of communication works for you and your communication best. Effective communication cannot happen on its own or with the efforts of only one person. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. Argumentative Essay On Fasting Accounts of fasting can be traced back thousands of years. The primary purpose of fasting in those days was to flee from the distraction of eating, to give your full attention to something else, often through the form of prayer. However, fasting is becoming increasingly popular in a different kind of way. Today many scientists and doctors are studying fasting as a type of healing process, not just mentally, but also physically. These beneficial effects have been seen in the treatment of weight loss, mental health, cancer, skin disease, and a host of other ailments. While fasting may not be safe for a select few, the possibility of life changing benefits warrants everyone's consideration. Many people refer to the problem of overweight Americans as an epidemic, and rightfully so. "The National Center for Health Statistics (2002) estimated that in 1999, 61% of U.S. adults were overweight" (Dean 303). The main reason so many Americans are overweight is that food is everywhere. We see advertisements for food constantly, such as commercials, billboards, food trucks, restaurants, and grocery stores. With so much food around us, it can be hard not to want to eat all the time. This reality of food everywhere is a very new concept. People have not had access to food in the way they do today ever before in history. Fasting has been shown to quickly and effectively get weight off. Dr. Rex Russell describes a three week fast conducted by Dr. George Thampy, a biochemist at the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Thesis Statement Against Homework The Case Against Homework: Homework/it is "All pain and no gain" There is very very little, if any, correlation between homework and test scores Not a single study has ever supported the folk wisdom that homework teaches good study habits and self–discipline. Most of homework is assigned as busywork to keep kids busy, assuming that they will waste their time. A lot of teachers feel pressured to assign homework by tradition, administrators, and/or parents. Most of the folk wisdom that homework is good and helps your academic achievement, test scores, responsibility, study habits, and to connect with your family has either been proven wrong, the opposite, or has not been proven at all. Equally important to the characteristics of a mentally healthy individual, in today's fast–paced world, is the psychological health of the brain, the genetic, biological and environmental factors that play an integral role in general wellness. Many prominent theorists have argued that perceptions of the self, the world, and the future are essential for mental health. Yet much research evidence suggests that overly positive self–evaluations, exaggerated perceptions of control or mastery, and unrealistic optimism are characteristics of normal human thought. Moreover, these illusions seem to promote other criteria of mental health, including, the ability to care about others, be happy or contented, and to engage in productive and creative work. Doubtless, poachers are not alone on this there are people helping, which if we want to get rid of it, it will take time. Our society thinks it's a bad thing, but people who do it are doing it for a reason. They will say they are doing it for profit and/or for food. People have the right to think that it is causing animals go extinct, but there will always be a counter claim from another person arguing that it's not true. For every argument, there is a counter claim and in this case, the topic is poaching.Poaching is very severe and harmful to the environment while others might say that poaching is great because it sells for a lot of profit. It is not bad for a young entrepreneur to pay bills; instead, it is good, because it gives the young person responsibilities to do, and makes the young entrepreneur a good family member because he contributes to home and stops spending things he used to spend because he is now the one who pays the bills. In conclusion, I strongly believe that being a young entrepreneur is good because it gives the young entrepreneur the opportunity to build his own future, set an example in society, and help his family since he is young, what is good because by doing so, the young person gains many things, such as responsibility towards life, perseverance in his life, and of course humility to ask God for His help at what he is doing in his life. It is definitely good to be a young entrepreneur because God tells us to use well our time and give an example to the believers while we are young, and we can do that being young laborious servants of God. • 22. Thesis Statement For Argumentative Essay On Zoos 1. Introduction to Research Essay & Thesis Statement: Since their very beginnings, zoo's around the world have been at the forefront of ethical debates. Animal ethicists, animal liberationists and proponents of the land ethic raise considerable questions about the nature of zoos in a moral and ethical context. Drawing on animal rights claims, the questionable moral status of animals and the land ethic, this essay seeks to argue that zoo's; a place in which wild animal's are held in captivity, are inherently unethical. Though animal liberationists tend to include domesticated animals and agriculturally farmed animals, the scope of this essay will focus solely on the ethics of zoo's and those animals within. Citing experts in the animal ethics...show more content... Fox, Michael Allen Fox, Dita Wickens Drazilova, Argument/ Premise 2: As a result of their rights and claim to a moral status, there is an ethical standard in which humans must treat animals. – Zoo's take on the duty to honor animal rights given that they have taken responsibility for the animal. This means that zoo's must work to avoid pain and seek to bring the animals pleasure. An "informed empathy" (having a reverence for all life) is the basis for our ethical standard in how we treat animals. Going against this ethical basis in zoo's is only acceptable when there is a threat to human life. Callicott will be brought in here yet again, to discuss how we have a duty of care for animals and that zoo animals are our creations, so we must treat them ethically. Supported by: J Baird Callicott, Michael W. Fox, Tom Regan Argument/ Premise 3: The Land Ethic assumes that we must treat animals with the same morality as humans, given that they are part of the collective "land" and we owe it integrity. We must preserve the integrity and stability of "the land" (animals included) and thus animals deserve to continue living in their natural state. In this, I will discuss how zoo's involve humans as the "conqueror's" and this is unethical– we must live in ethical holism. Zoo's directly violate this land Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 23. Argumentative Essay On Climate Change Climate change can be traced down to since the mid–1800s, when the industrial revolution first started taking place all around the world. Lives of human and animal species have been negatively affected since then, with events such as natural disasters, the melting of ice in polar regions, and change in weather and living conditions. Climate change in polar regions, in particular, has faced the most damage compared to any other region because of its location in regard to the sun. Climate change holds many different views and opinions about the effects, and even the existence itself, but evidence is clear and unmistakable in global ramifications and local impact in polar regions. "...Climate change [is] the 'greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people'", skeptics like Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma like to say. Climate change is change in climate patterns due to an increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases produced by certain human activity. According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center, data taken by satellite has shown that the Arctic cover has decreased by 30% over the past 30 years, and this change, which also include change in sea ice and permafrost, in artic weather and climate is caused by humans. Although numerous scientists have confirmed the legitimacy of climate change, there are different views on whether climate change is real or not. Government officials like Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma or Senator Marco Rubio of Florida have explicitly stated that they do not believe climate change is neither real, nor caused by humans (Tom McCarthy, 2014). On the other hand, mainstream media and other media outlets, such as The Independent and The Economist, have reported their findings of climate change and its legitimacy. The Independent (Conner, S. 2011) reported that records of these changes were taken by military submarines, land measurements, and satellite data to prove ice in polar regions are melting faster and faster. Satellites have tracked sea ice since the 1970s and by nuclear submarines since the Cold War, according to Peter Wadhams of Cambridge University and it was predicted that by September 2015, there would be no more sea ice. • 24. Thesis Statement : Global Warming Thesis Statement: Global warming is a growing concern of scientists and researchers who believe that it is a serious problem for our planet. The concerns and research have also been questioned and have even been called myths. Millions of people find themselves affected by these weather pattern changes and are concerned for their futures. Activists on both sides of the argument are very passionate and not afraid to attack each other in every way they can. There are many questions that are still not answered, however, we continue to see drastic weather changes to Earth. We must go beyond the arguments and learn as much as we can to stop what could possibly lead to the destruction of our planet, our way of life and our future. Global warming is concerned with an average increase in the temperature of the atmosphere and the increase in the Earth 's surface temperature primarily due to the emission of greenhouse gases from the burning of fossil fuels. As for the processes of global warming, they can occur from a variety of causes. The causes include the things that are concerned with natural and human factors. Some people believe that global warming is a myth or hoax. They believe that global warming is being used to generate fear and panic and that those behind this movement are using it to control people 's lives and for financial gain.
