The Alabama dinosaur described is a species of Acrocanthosaurus that lived approximately 110 million years ago in the early Cretaceous period in what is now Alabama, where it preyed on other dinosaurs and large vertebrates. The sediment layer containing the Acrocanthosaurus specimen was approximately 110 million years old and was found in Dallas County, Alabama, with the original bones now located at the Alabama Museum of Natural History.
