13. EDM Details
• 7 Applications
• (4) Universal Applications – 1 SAP and 3 Legacy Applications for JDE, HFM-WS, and HFM-MM
• (2) Planning Modules Applications – 1 Financial Planning and 1 Workforce Planning
• (1) Financial Consolidation and Close Application – FCCS
• Dimensions – Account, Entity, Management, Cost Center, Product, Job, Movement, Detail
• COA Finalization – collaboration across multiple time zones while working remotely!
• Loaded legacy COAs from each system plus future COA based on SAP
• Utilized a “COA Mapping” viewpoint in EDM as a hybrid view to bring together legacy and future COA’s from both companies
and multiple sets of legacy systems
• Used this viewpoint to map legacy GL accounts from JDE and HFM into go-forward SAP accounts
• Leveraging side-by-side display, comparison, and drag-and-drop features of EDM
• Provided a visual and centralized “sand box” to collaborate and finalize COA during real-time, remote working sessions
• Leveraged subscriptions with filters to synchronize EPBCS and FCCS hierarchies from COA Mapping
• Synchronize “standard” COA structures for EPBCS/FCCS while excluding legacy accounts and mappings that do not
belong in EPBCS/FCCS
• Batch automation delivered with EPM Automate and PowerShell scripting
ALITHYAWILLSCOTKSCOPE21
14. Legacy System Mapping Go Forward COA
Full mapping of existing legacy systems to
go-forward COA with drag and drop
functionality provided significant time and
cost savings over other methods
16. KEY LEARNINGS
• Use a tool like EDM to design and finalize your Chart of Accounts
• Difficult to accomplish using Excel spreadsheets, emails, and phone calls
• Don’t wait until the COA is finalized to introduce EDM; use EDM to get there!
• Leverage the strengths of EDM (especially during a pandemic)
• Collaboration
• Visualization of changes
• Side-by-side display and compare
• EDM can manage the “routine” (day to day master data changes) and
the “transformational” (M&A activities, COA re-design, re-
organizations)
17. WHAT’S NEXT?
• Expand EDM Footprint
• More dimensions, subject areas
• Continued COA Refinement
• Integration with SAP
• Data Governance

Important items to note:
Oracle introduced us into WillScot in May 2019 (which is when we were both hoping to close the WS deal)
Southeast Diversified account – Doug Park, RM and I worked this deal very closely for a year
WillScot’s acquisition of Mobile Mini turned it into a bigger deal and fortunately did not slow us down at (even with the Covid)
Both our deal and Oracle’s deal signed in May; WillScot acquisition of MM close on July 1 this year
WillScot was JDE and MM was SAP; they announced early that they were moving the whole org to SAP with a planned go-live of 1/1/2021
EDM has been used to model the EPM dimensions and the new SAP chart; will be used for EPM production hierarchy management as well
The Planning sprints were proposed in such a manner as keep this moving during the months leading up to the acquisition closing
