4. ● Our body is formed by basic components called
cells. Your body creates them and it replaces
them when they are dead. Your body usually
creates healthy cells which normally carry out
their function.
5. But when one cell takes an unusual form, in some
cases harmful, it can extend quickly without
dying and copies of it can be done. When this
happens, usually begins the grow and the
formation of a tumor (the group of unusual cells
of the body that forms a mass or a nodule)
6. Breast cancer is a cancer that is generated in the
cells of the breast of a person, mostly in women,
but it can appear in men or children.
7. Why does this happen?
● Any woman can get breast cancer, but doctors have
determined that there are certain factors that make
some women more likely to get sick.
● Family history: A woman whose mother, sister, aunt or daughter
has had breast cancer are more likely to develop the disease
● Age: As a woman ages, the chances of developing cancer
increase. Adolescents, as well as women between 20 and 40
years, are less likely to develop breast cancer.
● Diet and lifestyle: women who smoke, eat high-fat foods, drinking
alcohol and not getting enough exercise are at increased risk of
developing breast cancer.
8. Symptoms
● It is possible for a woman with breast cancer
not to feel it, she can also detect a nodule lump
in her breast.. If women examine their breasts
monthly, they can help find lumps or other
changes that a doctor should examine.
● Most of the breast lumps are not cancerous, but
for safety reasons the doctor should examine.
9. Treatment
● The type of treatment against the
cancer depends on the type of cancer
and on if this one has spread from the
breasts to other parts of the body.
10. ● Lumpectomy which removes the cancerous
tumor from the breast. A woman usually has
this surgery when the cancer is found early
and when the lump is small and in only one
part of the breast.
11. ● Mastectomy: In This procedure is extirpated
all the chest. This operation is realized when
the cancer has extended over the breast or
to other places of the body. It is a good way
of removing all the cancer and it helps to
prevent the cancer from spreading or
returning.
12. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy: in general,
they are in use after the lumpectomy or the
mastectomy for making sure itself that they
destroy and do not return to grow all the
cancerous cells.
13. ● Radiotherapy: It uses X-rays of high intensity to
kill the cancerous cells.
14. Chemotherapy: It is a special medicine that
moves for the whole body and destroys the
cancerous cells
