My vision on architecture
The projects that I show in this portfolio are a summary of my works as an architectu-
re student. During these years I have learned to acknowledge the importance that a good
design has over people’s life and its capacity to improve it.
The world crisis makes architects rethink our work and our capacity to participate in
the changes. The actual model of territory must deal with big cities that have great density
and at the same time housing areas, in the outskirts, with much lesser density and roads
that seem to extend up to the infinite. These suburbs are a model of unsustainable urba-
nization which makes people completely depend upon their cars.
It would be necessary to think of models adapted to pedestrians, with much fewer
private vehicles and an excellent public transportation system.
Like the best historic examples those cities should provide a rich mixture of places to
live, work and enjoy free time, with a good combination of intimacy and community fe-
eling. Great importance would be given to quality pedestrian spaces, with the best parks,
the best squares and urban avenues. Children should be able to go to school on foot or
in public transports that would be clean and safe.
Even if cities were created by the addition of layers over the centuries, modern cities
are a relatively new model that changes radically since the industrial revolution with the
apparition of the car and an incredible demographic increase. It has therefore a good
margin of improvement and we can observe in some already existing cities how the mo-
del ought to be (well structured density), for example Paris (the best urbanized city in the
world for many town planners) or New York with its green lung; Central Park.
Finally I try to be conscious of the importance of each project, because every building
carries implicit its own model of city and territory which has a repercussion on the wellbe-
ing and happiness of people.

During these years I have learned to acknowledge the importance that a good design has over people’s life and its capacity to improve it. The world crisis makes architects rethink our work and our capacity to participate in the changes. The actual model of territory must deal with big cities that have great density and at the same time housing areas, in the outskirts, with much lesser density and roads that seem to extend up to the infinite. These suburbs are a model of unsustainable urba- nization which makes people completely depend upon their cars. It would be necessary to think of models adapted to pedestrians, with much fewer private vehicles and an excellent public transportation system. Like the best historic examples those cities should provide a rich mixture of places to live, work and enjoy free time, with a good combination of intimacy and community fe- eling. Great importance would be given to quality pedestrian spaces, with the best parks, the best squares and urban avenues. Children should be able to go to school on foot or in public transports that would be clean and safe. Even if cities were created by the addition of layers over the centuries, modern cities are a relatively new model that changes radically since the industrial revolution with the apparition of the car and an incredible demographic increase. It has therefore a good margin of improvement and we can observe in some already existing cities how the mo- del ought to be (well structured density), for example Paris (the best urbanized city in the world for many town planners) or New York with its green lung; Central Park. Finally I try to be conscious of the importance of each project, because every building carries implicit its own model of city and territory which has a repercussion on the wellbe- ing and happiness of people.
