Slotted ALOHA is suitable for satellite networks with no carrier sensing and provides low channel utilization but poor scalability. CSMA/CD is used in wired Ethernet with collision detection and provides better performance than slotted ALOHA but lower scalability than CSMA/CA. CSMA/CA is used in wireless networks like Wi-Fi with collision avoidance and has the best channel utilization and scalability of the three but lower performance than CSMA/CD.
