- So let’s get right into…
- Sounds really simple, but can actually be a lot of work and it’s really a big part of your pitch Start with your network, follow on Twitter –- so it’s not a cold pitch
- I often get emails where writers say they want to contribute, but they don’t offer any ideas.
- This is important if the editor you’re pitching doesn’t know you.
- All of these pieces, you can do them in one or two sentences. Keeping it short will show the editor that 1. you respect their time and 2. you can write concisely
- But the fact that all those people pitch so POORLY, means…

- So once your pitch is accepted, how do you go about actually WRITING the post? Could also be called 5 mistakes people make
- Your introduction is your one chance to hook the reader
- Even if you’re sharing a personal story, turn it into lessons for the reader, so it’s not all about you Increases chances of success for you and the editor
- Makes editor more likely to envision your post on the site also helps your post get traffic, which makes you AND the editor happy
- Guidelines often posted on the site – include how they want it formatted (HTML), whether you can include links – and here’s a bonus tip for you on LINKS Carrie – awesome marketing assistant – will share the link to brazen’s blog

- Before we go to questions, I want to share with you a technique that has worked for me. This summer, when I wanted to do a push with guest posts, I realized I needed a PLAN.
