Hi everyone! I’m Alexis Grant, and I’m your host… had about 150 people sign up, Say hi to people arriving; ; I get SO EXCITED about this topic – joanna penn interviewed me -- because it allows me to create content chat box on left, Q&A (but wait until I ask for questions)
If you’ve participated in other webinars before… but my goal isn’t to make myself money, it’s to help YOU make money So let’s get started!
About half of you know who I am, read my newsletter or blog – why I’m qualified to talk about this topic Show sales page with products
Before we get into the logistics… No longer have to wait for permission from a boss or a publisher + expert = helps you reach people who want to know what you know + sell while you’re sleeping +autonomy and freedom over your work and your schedule
Process looks like this… Carrie, who is helping me with this webinar, will share the link to Scrivener
Chat into box YES if you have an idea, NO if you don’t – NO means not YET A few of you asked How do you know if it’s a good idea? How do you come up with idea? Example: social media strategy guide In some ways, it’s really hard to guess what will sell – if you think it will, TRY IT
Will help you see more sales
Now onto formatting your ebook! For a lot of people, ebooks mean kindle. But I’m a fan of PDFs… Kindle requires different formatting
If you do hire a professional, your book will look better, no doubt
This is something a lot of you have asked me about It’s all optional – some are suggested Cool about creating ebook vs. print book
My guides sell for anywhere from $24-59 If you price low, more people might buy If you price high, you’ll make more from each sale What’s your goal? Make money or sell a lot of copies? People value what they pay for
Sell repeatedly – this is something that has worked well for me If you have a big community, selling on your site is a good option
So the takeaway here is that…
Show on my own website
This is one thing I did NOT know when I launched my first guide. Build anticipation Carrie will share link to dave’s ebook
All this is part of your promotional strategy, which is what we’ll talk about next!
2. Friends, Facebook groups you’re part of 4. For example, I’m about to do a special offer with … lets you tap into other people’s networks
Email marketing is what I’m really passionate learning about now.
Will do an entire webinar on guest blogging NEXT – Carrie will share the link in the chat box Give example of mashable post = reach new readers
The bigger your community gets, the more you’ll sell at launch
Find a reason = anniversary, birthday, semi-annual Rewards loyal readers If there’s time -- Tale of my one-day sale
Give them even MORE than they expect Make them REALLY happy with your product
Here’s what I want you to walk away with tonight…
If you wouldn’t mind tweeting ONE great tip you learned today and tagging it with the #alexiswebinar hashtag, that would be great.
